The two of us loved the venue from the moment we saw it and decided almost instantly to book, the experience we have had was amazing. Our guests did mention multiple times over the course of the evening and following days what a spectacular venue we have selected and how great the wedding was! The rooms were superb, and provided our guests with ample space between all the different events at the wedding. The guests also loved the space and commented on how great the scenery was at the venue. The catering staff were very well organised, well trained and spot on with the service. They even looked after both the bride and groom waiting for the right movements to serve canapés and drinks on a very busy afternoon for us! Clare (Director of Events) was exceptional and with us every step of the way as we planned our wedding. She was always an email or phone call away to answer the many questions which cropped up and we really were very grateful for all her support throughout our wedding planning. It made the whole process so much more stress free!
The experience we had before, during and after the event was absolutely superb and the wonderful Director of Events (Clare) brought a welcome dose of calm, professionalism and care throughout all proceedings. The Woldingham team were very flexible on visits both before and after the Big Day and this made life considerably easier on the organisational front. The venue itself, from the drive in from the front gate to the variety of wonderful rooms and outdoor space, is breath-taking and the main house felt so spacious throughout the day despite us having a large wedding party. The catering side must also be highly commended as the food and service was magnificent and so many of our guests commented on this. We also appreciated the fact that the venue had an on-site chapel and the minimal transfer time from the church to the canapé/champagne reception was a real plus for all. The whole experience significantly exceeded our expectations and we are so grateful to Clare and the Woldingham team for taking good care of us on our special day.
The venue is really beautiful, everything is very well maintained and has that real wow factor. As we live locally we’ve been fortunate to see the gardens throughout the year and they look lovely in every season. Unfortunately for us we had rain on our wedding day, but the rooms were big enough to hold all of our guests comfortably. Once we’d met Clare (Director of Events) we knew we wanted her in control of our day. Peter (Catering Manager), Scott and Emily were extremely helpful. We made some adjustments to our menu and nothing was too much trouble. The food on the day was absolutely delicious and all of our guests commented on the quality and taste of the food. One of the major factors for us choosing the venue was the fact we were able to provide our own wine and prosecco. A lot of other venues only gave you drinks package options, which were more expensive and the quality was not as good as what we provided ourselves.
The mansion rooms are lovely with loads of options for decoration. The food was served perfectly by the catering team. Scott attended to the top table and was brilliant and Peter (Catering Manager) assisted with everything that we needed. Clare (Director of Events) is brilliant, helped throughout and answered all the questions we had regarding the venue, set up and running order of the day. Brilliant venue, food was fantastic and they couldn’t have done more for our special day.

We fell in love with the venue the first time we viewed it and all of our guests have been incredibly complimentary too. Marden Park’s grounds are simply stunning and the layout and size of the function rooms accommodated our large number of guests perfectly. We had lovely weather on the day but if this had not been the case we knew that our guests would still enjoy spending time inside the mansion itself. Peter (Deputy Catering Manager) and his team were friendly, attentive and very professional throughout the planning stage and on the day itself. The food was beautiful and the silver service was a nice surprise for our guests. Clare (Events Manager) was simply wonderful throughout the entire planning stage. She quickly provided answers to our (many!) questions and offered sincere advice and helpful pointers when discussing particular elements of the day with us. She was also amazing on the wedding morning itself, ensuring that everything went as planned and that we did not have to worry about anything.
The staff were always professional, approachable, friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the day so much and were super relaxed knowing it was all in hand. The beautiful venue speaks for itself and looks wonderful anytime of the year. We saw it in the pouring rain in January and loved it. All our guests said it was a fantastic venue and amazing food. Some said it was one of the best meals they’d ever had, especially the vegetarians. The kids were so well catered for at the venue and the parents really had a chance to relax. We had a ball. It was everything we hoped for and more.
The venue is absolutely fantastic. Being able to have either a civil or religious ceremony on the same site makes it really easy. Having separate rooms for food, dancing and bar works really well. The gardens are extensive and beautiful – we got so many gorgeous photos including on our engagement shoot. The outdoor terrace is perfect for a summer evening, but it was reassuring to know we’d be fine staying inside if it did rain on the day. The food was exquisite. Everyone commented on how great the food was. The staff were all very professional and nothing was too much trouble. What you don’t see listed is the amazing level of service from when you book to the day and what the team do behind the scenes on the day. This all meant our families could enjoy the day rather than worrying about logistics. So overall it is very reasonable. We really hope we can have another event there it was so good!
Although the prices are similar we found Woldingham far more flexible and accommodating than other venues and far more willing to work with us as we went along. They made the whole process easier – no need to liaise with separate caterers and arrange a different venue for the reception. Having Clare (Events Manager), who knew what was going on and could make things happen really did make a difference. There were no emergencies but we were much more relaxed knowing that if there was one, Clare was on hand. We will make sure to recommend Marden Park to anyone who breathes the word ‘engagement’ to us for many years to come!
As the old cliché goes, you had me at “hello”, Woldingham School had us as we drove down the drive the very first time and the school came into view. We just knew. By the time Clare (Events Manager) was two minutes into the tour we were ready to pay the deposit! Clare was extremely helpful and absolutely lovely from the first day we met her and throughout the wedding journey. Jane (Catering Manager) was very helpful in the lead up to our big day and all her staff were superb on the day. All our friends and family absolutely loved the venue. A magical place which has given us wonderful memories. We simply had the best day of our lives. Thank you!
