We got married nearly three months ago and people are still telling us how much they loved the food. If the quality of food is really important to you at your wedding, talk to these guys.
We knew we wanted a sharing board style, probably a roast meat main and something very chocolatey in the dessert, but had no real idea beyond that. An hour talking with Karen about different foods we love, and we basically had our ideal menu sorted. And when they delivered it, it blew away people including some who are very used to 5* hotels and high-end corporate catering.
For the planning, Kemp & Kemp had helpful tools and advice - if you're looking for an independent caterer then you're probably aiming for a fairly DIY wedding, and that makes Richard a godsend! The Famous Checklist is exhaustive, and highlights every little detail of exactly who is doing what and when, that might otherwise fall down the gaps between venue, caterer and other suppliers.
On the day their staff were great - efficient, organised, pragmatic and yet patient and friendly when the smokers, the weak-bladdered and the circulating bride and groom kept getting in their way.
They ran a really good bar for us too, and tidied all the glasses and the rubbish up at the end of the night so we had far less to sort out on the Morning After than we expected.
Also...there was no hassle, no ambiguity, no arguments. They said in explicit detail up front what they would and wouldn't do, and stuck to it. You might think that's to be expected, but I know friends who haven't been that lucky, with terms being changed or renegotiated even in the week before the wedding.
Bottom line, if you want the food to be brilliant and you want caterers who will make your dream wedding simpler to put together, these are the guys you should talk to.
