From the moment I met Sybille, she was kind and helpful and you can tell she really passionate about weddings at Combe!
The venue was perfect for our DIY wedding. We had access to the whole place from the Wednesday onwards (wedding was on Saturday) which allowed us to decorate and set up the barns in a relaxed and enjoyable manner. Sybille and Jason were on hand whenever we needed them but were also happy to leave us to it.
The facilities at Combe Manor Barns are fantastic. Sybille ensured that her team had the place looking spotless right down to the finer details. The barns themselves are beautiful and hardly needed any decorating. We chose to have round tables but there were trestle tables available and gorgeous chairs to go with the tables. The barns are also fully kitted out with with a PA system, a fab stage and dance floor and an extremely well-equipped kitchen.
Having the bridal suite in the Manor House was also such a blessing as it meant I could relax and get ready with only short walk to the Church.
Sybille sent us a list of recommended suppliers which was extremely helpful as they were familiar with the set-up of the venue and very reliable.
We held a ceremony in St. Swithun's Church on site. The Church is quite small but it was perfect for us and the ceremony was beautiful.
Nothing was too much for Sybille and her team. They made us feel very relaxed during what was a pretty stressful time thanks to COVID! Jason even went as far as helping my parents re-arrange a taxi when their's had problems at the end of the night!
A truly beautiful wedding venue in the most stunning setting! Sybille and the team at Combe are just amazing. We started planning our wedding over 3 years ago and throughout this time we have been provided with so much help, support and guidance (especially through covid)!
Becky and I got married at Combe Manor Barns in October 2021 and it was the best decision we made (bar getting married of course :-).
Why is it so good? Where to start?! First and foremost, the best part of the venue is actually in the host, Sybille and her team. The venue consistently wins awards for customer service and we can definitely see why. Sybille runs the barns with the care and attention you would want when hosting such an important occasion. She is fantastic at communication which we learnt was key during wedding planning (some suppliers don't seem to get that), as well as provided great recommendations leading up to the big day. It feels like a family-run venue in exactly the right way - you benefit from ideas, tips and decorations that previous couples have enjoyed without it impacting on your own vision, and Sybille provides support throughout it all without it being domineering - she really just wants you to have the best day and that is clear right from the start. The fact that she allows you into the venue three days in advance is a testament to this so that you have the time to enjoy the buildup to the day getting everything right and isn't one big rush the night before. And having the full day afterward to pack everything down gave the whole family time to share stories from the day before over a glass of wine and cake. Sybille and her team are the reason you should book this venue - but then the venue itself is pretty much perfect too!
We got married at the St Swithun's Church which is a lovely little church adjacent to the Barns providing an intimate service for about 80 people (you can even ring your own bells if you want to!). After the service, the barns are only a short walk down from the church itself, making it easy to keep all your guests in one place and avoiding lengthy bus trips between venues maintaining the energy of the day.
Once at the venue, there's a lovely lawned courtyard that is perfect for the champagne/canapé reception. It's also big enough for all guests to sit or mingle but we also had some lawn games that kept guests entertained while couple/family photos are being taken.
With the barns nestled in stunning rolling countryside, there's plenty of opportunity for beautiful photography of the happy couple, but also there is the front of the main house which provides a lovely backdrop for group/family photos. It again is a short walk from where your guests will be so you're not detached from the main action! The interior of the barn is stylishly rustic inside and provides a perfect canvas for your flowers/table decorations. Its layout is also one of its best features providing 2 distinct areas, one for dining/speeches and one for the dance-floor and bar so guests can sit and relax throughout the whole evening without having to shout over the music. On music, we went with The Brightside Band on Sybille's recommendation and they were absolutely brilliant - they know the venue and so easy for them to set up behind large curtains and all audio/visual requirements covered between them and the venue so no additional equipment was needed.
In terms of food and drink, the barns come with large food preparation / serving area for your outside caterers - close enough to the dining area to allow for easing serving but having no impact in sound or smell during the wedding. This is also a perfect space to prepare hot drinks and lunches for your family when getting everything ready beforehand (which you will appreciate!). Also, we loved the fact it was a dry barn that doesn't charge any corkage (amazing in itself) which gave us the flexibility to serve what we wanted and the amount we wanted without blowing our budget (our guests liked a drink!). I made my own bar out of pallets which was left at the venue - you may get to enjoy the product of my handiwork! At the end of the evening, buses/coaches were organised easily and had no problem getting to the venue (when you first visit you may think that they'll struggle!) but do book all coaches and taxis well in advance so you don't get caught out!
Everything was just perfect on the day - we couldn't have wished for a better venue or host in Sybille and her team. We can't recommend this venue enough to anyone wanting a beautiful rustic barn wedding that has the flexibility and amenities to really make it your own special day.
We married at Combe in October 2021 and the venue and its location are a wonder; being able to be away from anything else and enjoy the day made it even more special for us.
We fell in love with Combe Manor Barns, and the Church of St Swithin next door as soon as we visited and having everything in one place and able to walk between the two sealed the deal for us.
Being able to access the barns for three days before the wedding and two days after allowed us to spend time steadily getting everything ready and tidied up with no last minute rush to set up or early start the morning after for either us or our suppliers.
Combe offered the perfect opportunity for us to have the wedding we wanted, in the way we wanted, being a blank canvas of a barn, able to bring in our own caterers and suppliers, decorating how we wanted.
We will cherish the memories we made at Combe for many years to come.
Thank you so much for summing up how the venue worked well for you and Emily and what helped you decide to get married at Combe. You made the most of the barns with your lovely and very personal
Thank you so much for summing up how the venue worked well for you and Emily and what helped you decide to get married at Combe. You made the most of the barns with your lovely and very personal decorations and touches. Super activities and games laid on for all your guests! It was a marvellous day and I'm so pleased you decided to get married here. It was a beautiful service in the church too. Best wishes, Sybille
We first visited Combe Manor a year to the date of our wedding, it was the first venue that we had seen and the last! We instantly fell in love with Combe Manor, the Barn and views were incredible and we knew it was our perfect venue to have our wedding.
From the very start or planning our wedding to the months, days, hours and minutes leading up to our day, Sybille was amazing! Sybille is a lovely person and will help with everything, even the little questions I probably asked about hundred times were never too much trouble.
The bridal suite in Combe Manor was perfect to hide away in before walking down the beautiful Manor stairs and driveway to the Barns. The views around Combe Manor are outstanding and on a dry October day were perfect for our wedding day!
We cannot thank Sybille and her team at Combe Manor enough for making our day so so special! It truly felt like a fairytale wedding. Would highly recommend to anyone to visit Combe Manor and be blown away like we were.
Well I’m not sure if I have the words to truly express how amazing our wedding was at Combe Manor Barns. Sybille has been amazing through out the build up to our wedding (we had to postpone twice due to covid !) with her advice, communication and extremely friendly and patient approach.
We wanted a venue that meant our guests could stay in one location from the church service right through to the evening dancing and at Combe we had it all. The bridal party used the bridal room at Combe Manor House (bride + 4 adult bridesmaids, plus 2 make up artists and a photographer), which meant we were very lucky to be able to wonder down the drive way to St Swithuns church. After the church service we had the most beautiful drinks reception in the courtyard (it was a sunny October day, and we were so happy to be able to have the guests outside enjoying the beautiful courtyard).
The barns are a great size for a wedding, we had 70+ guests and had plenty of room within the one side of the barn, the other side was just the perfect size for fit in all the additional things you need for a wedding (cake / card and presents etc areas). We hired a bar that fitted it perfectly and we also had a photo booth that formed well.
Every single guest came over to express their love for the venue, it’s situated in just a stunning location, the barns themselves are beautiful and the gardens are a joy to see at all time of the year.
I still have a smile on my face after our wedding, it was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t have wished for anything more.
The day after our wedding my husband mentioned how he would like to celebrate his big birthday at the barns, as he would love to come back to celebrate again !
Thank you again Sybille for making our day one we shall cherish x
We had the most perfect wedding day at Combe Manor. As soon as we went to view the venue we knew instantly that it was the one for us. Sybille is absolutely amazing & was so kind and supportive through our wedding journey - as we did have to postpone due to the pandemic. However it was well worth the wait. We had the best day of our lives here and would recommend to anyone.
Combe Manor is located in a beautiful rural location just to the south of Combe Gibbet near Inkpen and we booked the venue for our company Summer Ball. The Barn is stunning with lots of room for dining tables and a dance floor. There is a raised stage area for the DJ/musicians and you can bring your own music too. There is a fabulous, grassed courtyard with lots of garden furniture and parasols to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. This is an ideal area to welcome guests with drinks and canapes. Sybille, the owner, was really easy to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and there was an evening porter on duty the whole evening, should any problem arise. You are allowed plenty of time to set up the day before the event and to clear away after, which was really handy for both us a company and the caterers. There is plenty of parking in a field adjacent to the barn. Everyone really enjoyed the ambience and venue. We can’t recommend Combe Manor highly enough. It is the perfect location for a summer wedding or party.
Combe Manor is a beautiful wedding venue and I knew when we went to look at it for the first time that it would be the perfect place for us to get married. It’s great that you can have a few days to prepare before hand as this takes some of the stress away and all the facilities are on site already. Sybille is always on hand to provide support and guidance which really helps to make sure you have all that you need on your special day. Sybille went above and beyond to make sure our day ran smoothly. All our guests commented on how lovely the venue is. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Katie for your lovely words. I so enjoyed hosting yours and Iain's wedding and getting to know your families and I'm pleased it all went so well. Can't wait to see all the photos. Take care!

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sybille and all at Combe Manor Barns. Not only is it a truly unique venue, hidden away in glorious countryside and absolutely stunning, but the team, and Sybille especially, go above and beyond to understand you as a couple and to make sure you feel welcome, appreciated, excited and relaxed. Sybille made all the difference throughout our engagement and we are so grateful to all at Combe Manor Barns for the heart they put into our relationship with them. If you are looking for somewhere you won't forget, for all the right reasons, then look no further - they don't get much better than this.
