This is a fairy tale Victorian Gothic style castle worthy of Germany to be found on the shore of the Menai Strait. You can easily get lost in the place...so much so that one guest drew a map for their wedding guests!
Lovely restaurant and rooms
Recommend a Rib trip down the Menai Strait while you are there.
A marvellous experience We spent two nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it. Chateau Rhianfa is a beautiful building which is full of fabulous furniture and lovely views across the Menai Straits. Our room was in one of the turrets at the back of the hotel which had a huge wet room in the turret. The room was very comfortable with coffee & tea making facilities. We had the taster dining experience the first evening which was good fun as we all sat around a huge table in the dining room. The food was quite rich & I struggled with the dessert course which was chocolate. We met some really interesting people. The gardens were lovely & would be even better in the summer. The breakfasts were really good & couldn't be faulted. All in all a great experience & we would go back. The two days were quite expensive but it was a special occasion. Would definitely recommend it. Frank R

Wow... what can I say? My fiance took me to Chateau Rhianfa for one night for my birthday, and it was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we pulled into the carpark, to that sad moment of saying goodbye and knowing we hadn't had enough time, everything was perfect. We stayed in the Duke Suite (thanks to Craig for your generosity!), with sweeping views over the Strait, four poster bed, free-standing bath, it was perfect. Canapes and bubbly at 7pm with the other guests in the hotel was a really nice touch, and the meal was very impressive... compliments to the chef indeed! The hotel is full of nooks and crannies and decorated impeccably throughout, well worth a wander around the hotel itself and the beautiful grounds. Well worth a visit, this hotel is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of staying in (and that's saying a lot!) We will be back!! Trip Advisor - stayed November 2013
We stayed for one night, and although living locally it was a welcome and relaxing break in magical surroundings. The views over the Menai straits and over to the snow capped mountains of Snowdonia from the reception rooms were stunning - we locals never tire! Our deluxe room was superb with nice fluffy robes and quality bedding - very important! All the reception rooms are delightful but I was very anxious to explore, and soon found lots of quirky places - love the sun room which opens out onto the large patio area - roll on summer! The small gym is fully equipped but unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of it as we spent too long in the hot tub sipping champagne and chilling!! Mmmm very enjoyable. The history of Chateau Rhianfa is very interesting and worth reading - a copy is available from reception. The building has retained much of its original character and Victorian features and has been refurbished to a very high standard with a contemporary and quirky twist. You can't help but admire the architecture with its French influence. The Chateau Dining Experience was run very professionally and all the guests treated like VIP's with friendly attentive staff. Thank you Martin and your team - look forward to returning CarolAnn - Stayed November 2013
Great hotel, clean, warm, super friendly staff and the decor is outstanding throughout. We had a nice view of Menai strait from the room. The chateau dining experience was outstanding and the idea of 12 complete strangers sharing one table really works for a great night. Well done to Daniel for making it all work. We had a wonderful weekend the venue was stunning. Even though it was a stormy weekend looking out over the Menai Straits and Snowdonia was fantastic. We had a lovely room beautifully furnished. The staff were kind and attentive nothing was too much trouble. We had a large family party on the Saturday night. The food was excellent beautifully presented. A special mention to Daniel and Martin the night porter who kindly kept the bar open for us they were both great. Thank you to all involved we had a great time
We booked the Venue prior to it being finished. The location, rooms and sheer ambience of the hotel are 5 star. We experienced nothing but 5 star treatment throughout. The rooms are superbly appointed and we had full access to the whole hotel throughout our stay. On behalf of my daughter her husband and all who attended the celebrations on the 18,19 and 20th October we thank you for making our stay so special and memorable.
Fabulous Location Plas Rhianfa must be one of the best located hotels in the UK with magnificent views over the Menai Straits. A truly fabulous building full of interesting nooks and crannies, with attentive staff and an excellent breakfast. Stay in a suite if possible to make the most of the spectacular views.
