We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting for our Wedding. Bruisyard Hall and Barn ticked more boxes than we realised we had and the idea of spreading our celebrations over the Bank Holiday weekend with our closest family and friends just sold us the venue. In the lead up to the wedding, our appointed event organiser helped us at every step of the way, no matter the question, they were always there. Our alternative cake, a beautiful stack of brownies, was one of our many additional requests met by the team, and they were heavenly! We are so lucky to have been able to create so many wonderful memories in this beautiful house and its gardens as well as having a wedding day, that despite the rain, was amazing in every way. A massive thank you to the brilliant staff at Bruisyard who could not do enough for us during our stay and made the ‘big day’ run so smoothly. We wouldn’t change a thing and would recommend a weekend wedding (definitely at this venue) to everyone.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for such an amazing day. We have only been home a few hours however we have had no end of compliments from our family and friends saying how fantastic the day was and especially the venue. We can’t fault you and your services. Thank you for all of your hard work making our day so very special. The food was amazing so please pass our compliments onto your fabulous chef. Can we keep your pizza chef?! The pizzas were delicious! The music was also fabulous so please pass our thanks onto Dreamwave for putting on tunes that kept our guests dancing until the very last song! Bethany, Thank you for being so approachable and friendly yet still so professional, you answered all of our questions along the way and made us feel instantly at ease. Alan, Thank you for giving us the sunniest November day we’ve had in years! You promised me the day I booked the wedding last year that we would be looked after and have amazing weather and you were right! You and your staff are fantastic!
Just perfect. I cannot express just how fabulous Bruisyard Hall and Barn are as a wedding venue. The setting is idyllic. The staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Special mention must be made of Katie who ensured that my daughter’s wedding was a truly magical experience. Thank you all.
Having got engaged in Southwold in November of 2016, we decided we really wanted to get married in Suffolk despite living in London. A set of our parents live in a village local to Bruisyard and suggested we had a look around. Fortunately, one of Bruisyard Hall and Barn Open Day events was coming up and we visited the venue. We knew instantly, that we could see ourselves along with all of our favourite people, celebrate our big day here. The Barn was set up for a wedding and we fell in love with the place. I particularly enjoyed the fact that we could have hay bales added to the grass lawn for guests to sit on after the ceremony – such a beautiful setting to look back on the Barn and House. We also loved the idea that our close friends and family could stay with us the night before and after the wedding too as the majority of our guests were travelling from London.
Needless to say, we booked the venue for July 2018 and the planning process was seamless. Katie was just an email or phone call away and despite living 150 miles away, we didn’t once feel stressed or worried about planning our wedding. We visited the venue once more to try the food and that was the only stressful thing – we wanted to have it all because it was so delicious! Our guests also commented on how accommodating the chef was and the evening pizza oven went down a storm! We also organised a BBQ at the house through Katie and a big cooked breakfast for the morning after the wedding – much needed and gave us one less thing to have to think about.
Katie was also really helpful in advising us of recommended suppliers. Things like the DJ with Dreamwave Events and our Florist, Moat Farm Flowers.
Our wedding day was typically the hottest day of the year, and the staff were fantastic. They were so relaxed and made sure our guests were comfortable. Having access to the barn the day before was really useful too. We truly had the best day of our lives and Team Bruisyard are to thank for that.
When we got engaged we were both so excited for our big day. We had so many ideas and looks we liked we decided on a two year engagement so that we could plan and save for everything we wished for. We both really liked the look of a barn for the wedding venue so we decided this would be the first thing we research and book. We came across Bruisyard Hall online and instantly wanted to see more so we booked a viewing.
As soon as we walked into the barn we both felt like it was perfect. It was open, bright and airy. We loved how the space was split into two rooms. It was a great size for the 70 guests we were inviting. We were also shown around the house and it was such a show stopper. Everything about it was breathtaking. We loved the idea of having somewhere to stay on the grounds of the wedding venue. We booked Bruisyard Hall a few weeks later as nothing else compared.
After that there was no stopping us. We went cake tasting at Marcons and More kitchen and decided on four tiers instead of three as the flavours were so delicious it was hard to choose. We traveled down to London to visit the Sophie and Luna studio to meet Sandra who makes beautiful dried and preserved flower designs. We booked Pick A Lilly florist Norwich for our fresh flowers. Katie was able to create stunning flower designs for our big day. I had Flamingo Amy Norwich do my Hair and Make Up. She is very talented in what she does. Matt’s suit was a Hugo Boss from Hatters Norwich. My dress was from La Creme Norwich designer Willowby by Watters. Both stores have amazing customer service and couldn’t have helped us more to look our best.
For our decorations we brought vintage tins off Ebay for our fresh flowers. We brought glass bowls from local charity shops for our sweet table and we also made a lot of things ourselves to give our wedding that real personal touch.
Our most cherished moment on our wedding day was having our portraits taken by our photographer Dominic Whiten who we met at a wedding fair held at Bruisyard Hall. It was the first real moment we could laugh and talk as husband and wife!
We cannot thank everyone at Bruisyard enough for everything you did to help to make our wedding day so special. The venue is utterly beautiful and all of our guests commented on what a gorgeous setting it was - a hidden gem in Suffolk.
Having the hall for the evening before just added to the whole occasion enabling all of our wedding party to spend that extra special time together. The rooms were all so beautiful and our evening meal from the kitchen was delicious!
All of you staff were incredible in helping our day to run smoothly and take away any stresses there could have been. You had everything in hand on the day, which meant that Stephen and I were able to completely relax and just enjoy being together with everyone we love. The permanent smiles on our faces in the pictures say it all! Even before the event, your communication and support in the planning was incredible so thank you.
