From the first meeting right up until the end of our wedding day, the staff at Balmer Lawn have been exceptional. They made our special day even more spectacular than we could have ever dreamed of and nothing was too much trouble. They were attentive to every detail and request and as a result, our day went without a single hitch. We cannot recommend highly enough the team at Balmer Lawn for their care and understanding of our wedding day. From Ruth, the wedding coordinator, to Philip supervisor on reception, Luke the barman, Jade on reception and Lindsey who straightened my dress and train countless time and then looked after us after the ceremony, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The patience shown by this team demonstrated how to make a Special Day extraordinary.
If like us, you go for the ‘Everything but the Dress’ package the Hotels partners will take on your concept and deliver to the extent of Jo Hicks contacting me the week of the wedding to explain that the flowers chosen were not the correct colour and to explain what the alternatives were. All that can be said Jo is that the flowers stunned and overwhelmed everyone, thank you.
Our thanks also go to Salli-Anne for the patience shown when taking on the last minute, literally, changes to Hair & Make Up, Sam for decorating the Pergola & tables, Alex for the cake and Alan the DJ you were amazing.

Our wedding day at the Balmer lawn hotel was so perfect and all we could ever wish for. From the moment we went to view the hotel and met with Ruth the wedding coordinator we knew this was the place we would get married.
The hotel is beautiful with amazing spaces for all the guest to enjoy and the outside ceremony area is just stunning. We were so lucky with our day that the sun was shinning so could have so much fun with games outside but if it had been raining we know there was always enough space inside if needed.
There is so many places inside and outside for the most beautiful photos. The hotel is so well kept and no matter when we went and viewed the standard was always the same with nothing out of place.
Even before our day we went on a menu tasting which was amazing and the food was outstanding then and the same on the day! We worked so closely with Ruth and the staff to make sure we had everything covered and they were always there if we had any questions or worries.
I can not thank them enough for everything they did from the set up till the last moment it was perfect. Nothing was ever too much and everything ran so smoothly. Every member of staff was so lovely and helpful and made the day extra special. We knew everything was organised well and we didn’t need to worry or stress about anything as they had everything covered.
I can’t recommend the Balmer lawn enough and hope others looking will choose this hotel as you will not be disappointed! It was the most magical day and so perfect from start to finish!

We travelled down from Chester ( 250 miles) knowing we wanted to get married in the area having spent years visiting. Naturally, we had an idea of what we were looking for and where. Balmer Lawn was our first visit, immediately we were taken by the beautiful hotel, full of its own character and charm; definitely not the identical hotel feel so common these days. The outdoor space for the ceremony was beautiful and complements the interior and surroundings. The staff were lovely from the outset, but the moment we met Ruth Mundy ( wedding coordinator at Balmer Lawn) we were left feeling completely at ease, we knew immediately this was the venue for us. Ruth has an amazing air of calmness, understanding and control about her that comes from knowing that you have a great team behind you and being an absolute professional and incredibly nice person. Ruth understands and listens, simple, rare and essential qualities. Not only are all the staff at Balmer Lawn attentive and so obviously happy in their work, but everyone involved in the 'everything but the dress' package, (photographer, florist, venue dresser, cake designer/baker and DJ) all worked seamlessly to ensure our day was perfect. These are recommended by Ruth and all worked in harmony to compliment our thoughts and help put on a day no one would forget. Meetings took place, ideas were discussed and eventually, we had our amazing day. The Balmer Lawn staff excelled, Ruth was a superstar, a steady guiding hand able to be flexible and adjust to the last minute changes which come with events such as this. Everyone smiled, everyone loved the day and we, beginning our married life together couldn't have dreamt of a better start. I know our guests will return, we certainly will. Thank you Balmer Lawn and Ruth, you deserve the highest accolades.

Wow, what can I say the venue and the staff went above and beyond what I would of ever expected them to do. We had an issue with our wedding cake, where the bottom tier needed to be completely re done and collected from the cake place. Lyndsey from Balmer lawn went to collect the cake and worked with their catering team to make sure the cake was the best it could be. This enabled us to go and relax before the big day. On the day they were faultless and tended to our every need and so much more. I had my doubts because I didn't know what to expect, but the service they provide is second to none and when it comes down to the day, you really don't have to worry about a single little thing. I cannot thank you guys enough and we will definitely be returning to Balmer Lawn

Balmer lawn had been notbing but helpful from the first day. The sat us down and went through all the packages the had to offer, which instantly drawed us to the venue as other places we viewed were not as helpful.
Planning was made easy as Ruth was just an email away and always answered any questions we had.
After having to postpone once we were not sure if we would be able to again, but the was no quibble and they quickly let us know what dates were available.
We finally got to our wedding date and it was tge beat day ever. Everything ran smoothly and the staff were all so helpful. There was no stress and we did not need to worry about anything on our special day.
We have the most amazing day and thankfully the weather was great to.
Balmer lawn is definitely a place to book if your looking for a venue that is affordable but also has a highend feel.

We could not be happier that we chose Balmer Lawn as our wedding venue. When we first looked around we loved the different function rooms and that we would have a whole section of the hotel for our wedding. The decor is very modern and has a relaxed feel about it, which suited us, plus the facilities are amazing, with lots of outdoor space as well as spa, pools etc. We love the new forest so knew we wanted to get married there and Balmer Lawn was reasonably priced compared to other venues in the area. They had really great packages and we were able to offer guests options for their meals and add canopés and an evening buffet.
Our actual wedding day just confirmed that we made the best choice. The staff were exceptional at making sure everything was sorted at the right time in the exact way we wanted. We were looked after so well, and everyone, from reception to bar staff to dining staff, were so friendly and made our day extra special. Ruth, who manages the weddings at the hotel, is just lovely and a pleasure to work with. She was around on the day to make sure things ran smoothly (she even helped put on the button holes for the grooms party!). There was another manager who was exceptional at being attentive and always there when we needed him without getting in the way at all. We got so many compliments on how good the food was. We didn’t have a huge appetite because of nervous excitement but I wish we could have eaten more because everything was so delicious. We stayed at the hotel for an extra two days after the wedding and the staff could not be more attentive, helpful and friendly. We’ve been made to feel so special.

We finally got our dream wedding at Balmer Lawn at the 4th attempt due to Covid restrictions but it was worth the wait. Ruth was amazingly calm throughout the last 18 months of rescheduled dates and protocol changes. I am a real believer in that everything happens for a reason and we ended up having the most perfect wedding day. Even the sun came out to celebrate with us. The location is stunning and the food, service, personalised touches and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. A huge mention to how doggie friendly Balmer Lawn is as well, our dog Suzie (also acting as ring bearer, chief bridesmaid, best man) was spoiled all day and looked after almost as much as we were! Our guests have all mentioned how spectacular the venue and facilities were and have said it's the best wedding they have ever been to. Thank you Ruth and Balmer Lawn for making our day stunningly perfect!
