John's mountaintop proposal to Sarah in her New Zealand home town hit every right note, down to his asking of her father's permission. Two weddings were celebrated, the second a unique and intimate affair in England...
Whilst the groom's party readied themselves in the gentlemanly Oak Room, Sarah, the mothers-in-law and bridesmaids were looked after in the beautifully appointed bridal suite. Elmore Court's period features throughout were magically captured on the day, spying gorgeous antiques, art and modern design in a blend of stylish English eccentricity. Taking cues from Pinterest and Etsy, the couple wove together eclectic notes of woodland rustic with quirky curiosities to style their day, marrying the quintessential with an individual playfulness.Â
The Grand Hall hosted Sarah and John's wedding ceremony, welcoming the bride, groom and guests with traditional flowers, ribbons and string quartet. Conversation, canapés and congratulatory bubbles followed in the drawing room and, for the romantically inclined, Elmore Court's grandeur, warmth and thoughtful arrangements were truly inviting. The Wedding Party moved onto The Gilly Flower, the place reserved in the venue's grounds for dinner and dancing. Here, animal vases jostled with black candles, feathers, bright lights and sparklers to create a party atmosphere that Gatsby would've been proud of. Toasting the bride and groom, the wedding breakfast flowed into an evening dancing the night away.
