Rachael and Tom first met on Match.com, and were each other's first (and last!) dates on the app. From the moment they started planning their beautiful Spring wedding, they knew they wanted the day to be a true representation of them as a couple, so their decor was full of personalised touches.Â
The couple chose Combermere Abbey in Cheshire for their April wedding. "We chose Combermere because it is just absolutely beautiful - we loved the Glasshouse for the ceremony overlooking the fruit maze," says Rachael. To make the most of the beautiful location, Rachael and Tom incorporated both Tom's Welsh heritage and Rachael's love of science into their venue decorations. "The flowers were mainly daffodils, to represent Wales, and cream roses to represent me as an English rose," says the bride. "I am a science teacher so for the table centres, the rose was in a test tube, and Tom is an avid golfer so we stuck a tee and golf ball to the table decor and included a golf club to hold the table names. We also had a sheep doorstop finish it off."

The evening party was one of the most important elements for this fun-loving couple, so they made the night extra special by hiring Wish Upon a Sparkle, a company that gives guests glitter makeovers (including sparkly beards!). "Tom was a bit dubious but it went down a storm with our guests - particularly the men!" says Rachael. "The queue was massive for it all night, and it really helped get everyone in the party atmosphere." Along with a heaving dance floor and live music from band The Fanatics, the couple included unusual evening food in the form of fish finger sandwiches, smiley faces and baked beans, in tribute to the bride's love of school lunch food!
