Katie and Matt - A Romantic Country Wedding

Couple Katie and Matt took a risk when it came to their beautiful wedding venue, Blackwell Grange, as it was still under construction when they went to visit it! "The wedding barn had no roof and the reception building had only about a metre high wall so we had to use our imagination!" says Katie. "We were so inspired by Didi’s visions we knew the venue was going to be beautiful when it was finished."

Their Cotswold wedding venue certainly looked amazing on the day, as it was filled with rustic decor, homemade stationery created by the bride, and stunning flowers by florist Flower Thyme. The flowers were in shades of pale pink and merlot, to match the bridemaid's Dessy bridesmaid dress, and included Katie's favourite David Austin roses. 

Katie looked elegant on the day in her bateau-neck, low-backed gown from Mikaella, which she found at White Boutique in Leamington Spa. "I originally wanted lace, but I'd tried on a lot of dresses and hadn’t fallen in love with anything," says Katie. "The consultant at White Boutique asked me to try on a very different style dress, and as soon as I walked out of the changing room to see myself in it I actually said ‘wow’. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was on!" Katie finished her bridal look with a full-length cathedral veil, a Richard Designs hair vine, strappy silver sandals from Carvela and her grandmother's sapphire engagement ring as her 'something blue' and 'something borrowed'. 

Luckily, the August weather was amazing, and the guest enjoyed a canape and drinks reception in the sunshine (the elderflower sparklers and crispy cod and chips went down particularly well), before the wedding breakfast of bruschetta, roast beef and delicious dessert canapes. The couple even included a surprise course of lemon sorbet with a lime and vodka shot, which the guests loved! In the evening, a woodfired pizza oven kept everyone dancing late into the night.
