Two years after meeting on Tinder, Eve and Adam got engaged in Rome. Another two years later, after finding the perfect intimate wedding venue, on September 15th 2020 the couple tied the knot at Fairyhill with 30 guests in attendance.
Coronavirus Complications
Planning a wedding during coronavirus uncertainty was, of course, stressful for Eve and Adam. The team at Fairyhill helped keep the couple at ease during this time. 3 or 4 weeks before their wedding date, Eve and Adam decided to go for it. They wanted to get married even if no-one was there but them, so it was a bonus that they were able to share their special moment with their closest family and friends. However, the couple did have a last-minute panic as the rules changed on Friday before Eve and Adam were due to get married on Tuesday! So, they had just 3 days to sort everything out.
The Venue
Eve and Adam had only been engaged for a week when they started looking at venues online. Fairyhill was the first venue they saw. It was originally the gorgeous and unique K Room that convinced them this venue was perfect. However, it was the incredible support they received from the team which made Fairyhill truly special. The team took away any stress and helped with the planning, adapting their wedding to suit the restrictions. The couple never dreamed of actually having a 2020 wedding but during their final meeting with Greg, the wedding team manager, he said ‘I’ll make this happen’!
The Fashion
The bride wore a straight cut lace dress with an embroidered train in ivory by Martina Liana which she found at Laura May Bridal. As soon as she tried it on, she fell in love straight away! In fact, this was the only dress Eve tried on. She accessorized this with a delicate hair piece, veil, and a dusky pink bouquet from Dear Valentina. Her look was complete thanks to hair by Gower Bridal and makeup by Leah James Hidden Beauty. The groom wore a classic black, three-piece tux.
The Wedding
The ceremony was perfect, so romantic and intimate and it really did surpass the couple’s expectations. At first, they didn’t see it initially as their wedding as they just wanted to get married legally. However, on the day, it felt truly special. It was raining in the morning but then it cleared up, so Eve and Adam decided on an outdoor wedding with just 10 minutes to spare! The setup looked spectacular on the terrace and, luckily, the rain held off for the ceremony. Eve found walking down the aisle with her mum especially emotional. Although the overall ceremony was a highlight for both couples, Eve found saying her vows particularly emotional. She was very tearful and her voice was breaking. She didn’t realise how emotional she’d be after everything!
After the ceremony, the newlyweds headed over to Cerrig Glan, one of Oldwalls Gower's Rustic retreats properties. They had hired a private chef and host from Oldwalls and had a BBQ with their family by the heated pool. The couple also had a 3 tiered wedding cake from Piece of Cake Wales. The top was carrot, the middle was white chocolate, and raspberry and the bottom was lemon drizzle. The sun was shining and the views were breathing over the Gower peninsular.
Final Thoughts
For the newlyweds, the benefit of having a small wedding was that they got to speak to every single guest and spend time together, it was perfect. That’s what made their day so special. Their closest family and friends were there by their side and they got to enjoy the time with them. The couple also said that when you’re planning, you get caught up in things that don’t matter like favours and seat covers, but the reality is no one remembers. It seems so big and important, but coronavirus really did put all that into perspective for Eve and Adam. They’ve also planned a second celebration at Fairyhill for 1st September 2021. We wish them very many happy returns for the future.
