16 months ago in the midst of the pandemic, our friends at Bridelux, the world’s finest wedding specialists and HELLO! magazine collaborated on a competition to give a deserving key worker couple their dream wedding. After many months of planning, the lucky couple finally said ‘I do” on the 19th of August 2021 in a stunning hotel wedding venue in London.

The winning couple
The gorgeous couple, Sarah Bevan and John Husband, are both frontline medical professionals working for the NHS. Sarah is a paramedic and John is an A&E nurse. They were entered into the competition by their son Charley with an adorable letter.

Talented suppliers create an enchanted garden setting
Since the couple were selected, Bridelux collaborated with 33 luxury wedding suppliers to make Sarah and John's dream a reality. James Lord, CEO of Bridelux said, “It was such a wonderful experience collaborating with some of the best wedding suppliers in the industry to give back and create the ultimate dream wedding for such a deserving couple. The look on their faces spoke 1000 words! Sarah and John, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.”
All the suppliers exceeded expectations and created an ‘Enchanted Garden’ worth over 200k, the couple were completely overwhelmed with gratitude.

"It was more than we could ever have imagined,” Sarah, 34, a paramedic for the East of England Ambulance Service, tells HELLO! “Every detail, from our monogrammed invitations to the dress, the reception, the cake, flowers and venue, was perfect and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
“We’re still on a high,” says John, also 34, an emergency senior charge nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

Melanie Helen of Cranberry Blue said, "Having spent a considerable amount of time speaking to Sarah and John getting to know them both at the start of the process, the design concept for the day was based around the idea of an 'Enchanted Garden' which felt dreamlike, elegant and slightly whimsical. The colour palette was to be a mix of varying tones of green against ivory, delicate soft pink with accents of gold. We put together bespoke design boards that covered all elements of the day and this then developed further once we spoke to florist Farima Perry and the lighting and production team Luminaire. The end result was the perfect setting and atmosphere for guests to immerse themselves in and party the night away."
“It was the most beautiful sight we’d ever seen,” says Sarah. “John and I love forests and the incredible wedding specialists had captured that perfectly. It looked like a scene from a fairy-tale and I wanted to live in that room forever.”
