Megan and Oliver - An Autumn Wedding in Welsh Country House

Megan and Oliver had a beautiful Autumn wedding with an intimate church ceremony and a fabulous reception in Talhenbont Hall, North Wales. Find a country house wedding venue near you!

The couple met at work where they are both lawyers and they were together for four years before getting engaged. They planned their wedding for the next year, before tying the knot in November. 

The venue

Megan and Oliver knew that they wanted to get married in a church in Wales, so when searching in Northern Wales they fell in love with St. Tysilio's and its beautiful setting.

For the reception venue, Talhenbont Hall offered the traditional yet homely look that the couple were after. "When Alicia invited us in to the Hall we both knew immediately that Talhenbont was perfect for us," says Megan. "We loved the look of the place and the facilities on offer."

The fashion

Megan's dress was a stunning bohemian lace gown by Yolan Cris, which she added long sleeves to to make it one of a kind. The bridesmaids wore long, pewter dresses with pleated skirts from David's Bridal, and the groomsmen wore navy blue suits with silver ties from Tom Ford. 

The meal

The three-course meal reflected the Welsh setting, with a main of Welsh lamb Henry with potato and leek dauphinoise, and a dessert of Bara brith bread and butter pudding. Even the wedding cake was tiers of Welsh cheese! For favours, the couple gave their guests a carved Welsh lovespoon each.

The reception

The couple didn't have a set theme but they asked for the flowers and decorations to have a strong autumnal feel, so orange and reds were very present.

For the evening entertainment, Megan and Oliver had two bands. The first was a three-piece instrumental jazz band, who played during the pre-wedding breakfast drinks. The second was an incredible five-piece jazz band with vocalist, who played after the wedding breakfast. 

Megan and Oliver had a wonderful day celebrating and they couldn't pick their favourite part - they loved every moment!
