A beautiful country and the ultimate destination for a honeymoon. Heading to the land of The Lord of The Rings is on many people's bucket lists, and spending two weeks exploring the mountains and cities is the perfect way to start your newlywed adventure.\n

1. Wai-O-Tapu, Thermal Wonderland

Named one of the 20 most surreal places in the world, these incredible geothermal pools and volcanic and acidic lakes are a must-see. Unique features include the world famous Champagne Pool as well as naturally coloured springs and huge volcanic craters with steaming terrain.

2. Swimming with dolphins

Swimming with dolphins is one of the most magical moments you could ever experience. In The Bay of Islands, you'll have the opportunity to swim with bottlenose dolphins. The waters are also warmer on the North Island so you don't have to wear a wetsuit!

3. Bungy jumping

A bungy jump is the number 1 activity to do in New Zealand - you'll be sorry if you don't! There are so many places to choose from, from the original bridge jump to the scary Nevis Bungy located 134 metre over the middle of a gorge.

4. Matamata

Matamata, home of the Shire from the Lord of the Rings, is a small town in the heart of the Waikato region, at the base of the Kaimai ranges. It’s about a 2 hour drive from Auckland, and if you're as Hobbit obsessed as we are, you must visit here!

5. Hokitika Gorge

The gorge is situated in New Zealand's South Island and home to a natural and unique array of glacier water, plankton and a few other ingredients making the river a vibrant blue colour. There are lots of walking trails near the gorge which are great to do, and if you like it you can even go for a dip, but be warned - the water is freezing!

6. Queenstown

This stunning town is everything Kiwi in one - its landscape is extraordinary. Queenstown can offer you undeniable beauty and thrills which will create the memories of a lifetime. It also has some of the best restaurants in New Zealand and enough bars to fill a town twice its size.

7. Waiheke Island

A short ferry ride of about 50 minutes from Auckland will take you to the remote beaches and the beautiful vineyards of the Waiheke Island. A couples retreat, the island is a must-visit destination in New Zealand for any honeymoon.

8. Hells Gate Geothermal Park and Mud Bath Spa

The park has spectacular geothermal scenery and the complex allows you to enjoy a relaxing and therapeutic mud bath and sulphur spa. The mud bath was used by the Maoris for thousands of years to ease muscle pain. You can also try the night time version called “Twilight Spa” where you can bathe under the stars. Hells Gate is a 5-minute drive away from Rotorua International Airport. It also features the biggest mud volcano in New Zealand and the largest hot waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere.

9. Tandem Skydiving

For thrill-seekers, a tandem skydive is perfect. Usually you enjoy a breathtaking flight with incredible views before plummeting towards earth at 200kph. This does usually come with a professional skydiver to guide you - depends how brave you feel.

10. Glacier Boat Cruise

Another way to enjoy the beauty of New Zealand is by taking a boat cruise where you can take in the stunning views of glaciers from Lake Tasman, New Zealand’s longest glacier stretching for 27km. You may even witness glaciers melting before your eyes as icebergs of countless shapes and sizes break off - nature at its most extreme.
