Known for its art and architecture, Barcelona is one of the most popular destinations for honeymooners looking for their first break away as newlyweds. With sun and sea at your fingertips, all that’s left to find are the best places to eat. Luckily for you, we happen to have an expert in the office…
We certainly recommend mixing up your dinner destinations. Why do we have to eat all in one place? Why not enjoy a starter on a rooftop bar before heading for tapas dishes in a local restaurant – you can experience so much more by being a little adventurous!
1. Ciudad Condal
Based on the Rambla de Catalunya with a lot of other lovely restaurants, this place has the most amazing tapas. The menu is vast, the service is fast and it’s excellent value for money. This makes it very popular, but they don’t take any reservations. Make some time for it – totally worth the wait!
2. Cafe de L’Academia
Tucked away in the back streets of the Gothic Quarter, the Cafe de L’Academia offers a small, intimate atmosphere and is a local secret. With great food on offer, make sure you make a reservation so you’re not disappointed.
3. El Nacional
For an overwhelming choice head to El Nacional, a huge extravagantly decorated market filled with lots of different restaurants. The variety is incredible and one of the restaurants doesn’t even have a menu – they just bring around plates of tapas. Are you feeling adventurous?
4. El Mercat de la Princesa
Following the market style, take a trip underground to experience the El Mercat de la Princesa. Lots of variety and each little booth focuses on one type of food – meat, fish, potatoes…you get the idea!
5. Elche Restaurant
A very well known classic paella restaurant – you can’t go to Barcelona without having some traditional Spanish dishes! Our biggest tip if you’re planning on dining on paella for the night is to pay well for it. If you order cheap that is what you will get. Quality ingredients and flavours await you at the Elche Restaurant.
