Why New York?

It’s said that everyone should visit New York at least once in their life, and it’s easy to see why: the city is teeming with fascinating sights and attractions, from its towering skyscrapers to the humble hot dog carts on the sidewalk. Supposedly there’s nothing you can’t find in New York. The ‘Big Apple’ is known for setting the world’s standard in food, nightlife and shopping, and is home to some of the most famous attractions on earth: whatever type of New York City honeymoon you’re after, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Key information

New York is a global super city with a vibrancy and cosmopolitan vibe that is arguably unmatched anywhere in the world.

About the activities:

There is so much to do and see on a New York City honeymoon, that you could stay there for a year and still not see everything interesting. However, with a bit of planning, you can still pack in a great amount on the honeymoon of your dreams: the MoMA, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Little Italy to name just a few.

About the climate:

January & December: Want a romantic city honeymoon? New York is a popular choice for brides who don’t want to spend their honeymoon on a beach, and would rather do some shopping and sightseeing with their new spouse. Temperatures during January and December are low, with temperatures barely reaching above 13 degrees celsius – so pack some warm clothes! If you visit in December, you can experience a romantic Christmas in New York.

April – September: The weather in New York changes considerably throughout the year, so if you’re looking for sun we recommend visiting during April, May, June, July, August, or September. These months will allow you to enjoy your romantic city honeymoon in beautiful weather.

About the culture:

Because New York is such an incredibly diverse city, there really is something for everyone. Whether that entails trying all the amazing varieties of cuisine on offer, strolling around districts such as Chinatown or the hubbub of the Upper East Side and central Manhattan, it’s the perfect honeymoon destination.

What we love:

The energy. No other city even comes close. Everyone is busy and on their feet all the time. However, if you want to slow the pace down a little, we recommend checking out the New York High Line that starts in the Meatpacking district. Calm and serenity amongst the hustle and bustle – New York really has everything.
