Morocco, an enchanting land full of mystery and wonder. One of Africa’s top tourist destinations, a honeymoon in Morocco will involve well-trodden paths through the country’s bustling souks and medieval medinas, dusty deserts and snow-capped Atlas Mountains.
Morocco has an enchanting and rich history, from the Palaeolithic era right up to the present day via the Romans, the Byzantines and more recently the French. This fascinating history is highly visible as one meanders around the souks and bazaar markets.
About the food:
Moroccan food is a hybrid amalgamation of Andalusian, Arabic, Berber and Mediterranean cuisine. Think couscous, incredible spices, lamb tagine and thirst-quenching mint tea. You won’t want to leave.
About the climate:
January – April, October & November: Want a honeymoon filled with adventure? Morocco is a great destination for a couple who want to explore a beautiful country. If you want to discover everything Morocco has to offer without blazing sun, then we recommend visiting out of peak season, during January – April, October, or November. In these months the weather will be sunny and often reach 28 degrees, yet it won’t be so hot that you can’t explore!
May & September: If it’s hot weather you’re after, we recommend visiting Morocco during May or September. During these months the temperatures will often peak at around 33 degrees, so be prepared for some serious sun. Rainfall during these months is typically low, so this is a wonderful time to plan a trip to Morocco.
About the culture:
The majority of Moroccans are Berber or Arabic people in terms of identity, but they are welcoming and friendly to all groups from all walks of life. Morocco retains its authentic and intoxicating north African atmosphere, whilst still having many Western comforts available.
What we love:
Marrakesh. This beautiful city has awe-inspiring mosques, souks, bazaars and markets, as well as fantastic food and a perfect climate in Spring. One of our favourite honeymoon destinations.
Take me there!
