But, it’s also the culture of the locals that is equally as fascinating, and you will be humbled by their kindness and warmth the moment you step off the plane. A honeymoon Fiji would make a superb choice for you and your partner, as it’s the country that keeps on giving.

Key information

Fiji honeymoon resorts are well known for its beaches, but there is also so much more to explore in terms of scuba diving, trekking, snorkelling, birdwatching and everything in between.  Island highlights include Nadavu and Taveuni, both of which offer luscious forests and deserted, pristine beaches. Similarly, in terms of the cuisine, the Indo-Fijean community can cook up a storm with their emphasis on fresh ingredients which nudge more towards the spicy end of the spectrum. As for the sunrises, they have to be seen to be believed!

About the activities:

Visiting the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple is an absolute must in order to see the largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere. For the more adventurous types, there is the opportunity to go sand-boarding, jet boat rides, white water rafting or surfing with Pacific size waves. If you’d like to take things a little slower, take a dip in the natural mud pool and hot springs, visit Bouma National Heritage Park (incredible waterfalls), visit a Kava ceremony, or pay a visit to the many calming yoga retreats on offer. We can guarantee one thing, you will never be bored!

About the weather:

Thankfully, temperatures remain fairly constant in Fiji throughout the year. However, in order to make the most of this beautiful country, we suggest not visiting between November – April, as this can be when the tropical storms are at their worst with the monsoon season. If you have the luxury of choosing when to take your honeymoon, we recommend booking Fiji between July – September, when the sun is in full swing and the rain has subsided.

What we love:

The island of Nadavu is home to the 4th largest coral reef in the world, so the scuba diving opportunities are absolutely exceptional. Expect crystal clear lagoons, turquoise waters and an endless array of tropical fish to swim alongside. This really is paradise.
