A Cambodia honeymoon means being around the temples of Angkor and the magnificent legacy of the Khmer empire. The most famous and awe inspiring is Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument and one of the Far East’s must see sites. Siem Reap is a cluster of villages with a French colonial centre, and the gateway to the Temples of Angkor. The capital city Phnom Penh enjoys a beautiful setting and is an interesting mix of old colonial buildings, temples, markets and broad avenues. Cambodia borders Vietnam, Thailand and Laos so is perfect for a multi-country Asian honeymoon.
This unspoilt country will have you mesmerised by the historic temples, the warmth of its people, and the incredible food. But hurry, before everyone else finds out about it!
About the climate:
November – January: During these months the weather in Cambodia is beginning to cool down, which makes it ideal for couples who want a honeymoon in Cambodia whilst the country isn’t packed with tourists! With temperature highs of 30 degrees, there will be no shortage of sun, however it will also be cool enough for you to do some sightseeing.
February & March: It’s always a great time to visit Cambodia but in February and March it’s even more beautiful. During these months the weather in Cambodia can range between 24 – 37 degrees, making it ideal for couples who want a honeymoon with a mix of relaxing on a sunny beach, and exploring on the cooler days!
About the activities:
There is plenty to visit in Cambodia, especially the iconic historic sites such as Angkor Watt, Bayon Temple and Prasat Preah Vihear. Yet beyond the incredible history are charismatic cities living very much in the present: Siem Riep, Phnom Penh being two excellent examples. Both cities both provide great changes from the tranquillity and calm of the Cambodian countryside. Here, graceful ladies work in rolling rice paddies, fishermen hover serenely over slowly drifting rivers, old men sip mint tea from their ramshackle homes, creating a tropical and tranquil paradise that is hard not to fall in love with.
What we love:
The people. They radiate warmth and are always happy to help if you are in need. Their history dictates that their nation has had a tough upbringing, yet the people have remained as resilient and kind as ever.
Take me there!
