About The George at Wath
Located in the pretty village of Wath, only 3 miles from Ripon and ten minutes from Juncion 50 of the A1(M). The George is a very individual wedding venue. With our large function room, en-suite accommodation, bar and landscaped garden.
Whether you are looking for a venue for 10 or a venue for 60 we are here to help make your special day a success. With an emphasis on quality, we offer a wide variety of food and drinks to suit all tastes and budgets, be it a simple roast dinner and a good bottle of red wine or a lobster and champagne reception.
For a more intimate wedding breakfast, we have a small, cosy dining room that can seat a maximum of 12 or if your numbers are larger, our light and elegant dining room can accommodate up to 60 guests. We also have a large bar area with plenty of comfortable seating, offering a selection of the best Yorkshire ales and a very fine range of wines from around the world. A games room, with a large screen television, and pool table, is also available for your use, to entertain the boys (and girls) in between the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
Our accommodation is decorated to an exceptionally high standard. In total, we have 5 rooms, they comprise: 1 Super King Suite, 1 Superior Double Room, 2 Standard Doubles and a generous single room.
If you choose to have your evening reception with us, we have a mouth-watering menu of buffet options, all created by our team of chefs, for you to pick from or our hog roasting oven looks fabulous in the corner of the garden with a whole crispy skinned pig cooking for your guests. This is particularly good for large parties and can comfortably cater for 120 (if not a few more or seconds for those that are still hungry!)
