Sedgewell Barn is set within 60-acres of rolling countryside in the heart of rural North Yorkshire. This relaxed, family-run wedding venue offers two stunning barns with fabulous views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside, as well as deluxe glamping pods and a luxury wedding suite on-site. A blank canvas wedding venue giving you the flexibility to theme your wedding as you wish, spending as little or as much on the things which matter most to you.
We have two interlinked wedding barns; the Rustic Barn with its romantic character, and the Celebration Barn which is more contemporary in style with enviable views over the Yorkshire Dales. We also offer outdoor seating areas, the Byre Barn as a welcome area and several stunning backdrops for photographs.
Your Perfect Day
Wake up in The Nest, our luxurious wedding preparation suite, ready for the arrival of your trusted suppliers to get you wedding ready. Throughout the morning enjoy a relaxing pre-wedding brunch with those closest to you before getting dressed in your wedding attire. Secretly watch from the window at the hustle and bustle outside as guests start to arrive.
It’s time... our in-house Wedding Planner will collect you and your party, bringing you into the venue out of sight from guests.
After the formalities, head to the stunning outdoor setting with your photographer for the confetti shot, where, if chosen, Pedro the Pony will be there to provide the confetti for your guests. There are plenty of outside and indoor spaces for guests to enjoy and an area for garden games to keep your guests entertained. Celebrate into the night with good food and drink, dancing to your selected band or DJ and being in the company of your favourite people.
Spend the first night of married life in The Nest, enjoying the privacy of your own fairy-lit hot tub and roll top bath, waking as a married couple. Reminisce with family and friends over an ‘al-fresco’ breakfast.

FAQs
Yes you have exclusive use of the whole venue for three days and two nights or four days and three nights. This includes the barns, The Nest cottage as a wedding / honeymoon suite and eleven en-suite glamping cabins, all with private hot tubs.
Yes - we have a few ceremony spaces to choose from which we will show you when you come for your viewing.
Yes that’s absolutely no problem. If you’d rather go for someone who’s been tried and tested we also have several local caterers we’ve teamed up with who can provide silver service dining, hog roasts/BBQs, rustic sharing platters …… anything is possible.
Exclusive use gives you plenty of access to set-up the day before your wedding so there's definitely no need to feel under pressure here!
Last orders at the bar are 11.30pm and the bar will close at 11.45pm with the last dance being just before midnight.
As well as our own on-site luxury glamping accommodation and The Nest cottage, there are a number of hotels and B&Bs within a 3 mile radius of Sedgewell Barn including our local village pub which provides bed and breakfast.
Yes we have a beautiful cottage for the honeymoon suite and eleven luxury en-suite glamping cabins which sleep up to four people. One of the cabins is slightly larger which sleeps up to five people and is also accessible. The honeymoon suite and each of our glamping cabins has its own private outdoor hot tub. Up to 47 people can be accommodated onsite in total.

Our bar is very reasonably priced but we're more than happy to discuss corkage options with you.
Yes we do have some which we will discuss with you during your showround :)
Fireworks are not allowed so as not to cause any concerns for neighbours who keep animals on their premises.
Yes we do allow bio-degradable confetti, and the option of hiring our confetti pony, Pedro!
Yes absolutely as long as they are in glass holders so no naked flames.
Yes the venue hire includes a romantic honeymoon suite with king-size feature bed and roll top bath. This also forms a 'getting ready' area with facilities for hair and make-up as well as luxury accommodation and private hot tub for the party pre-wedding.
