Following an extensive renovation in 2019 and granted a wedding license in spring 2021, we are proud to offer the venue for weddings, engagements and other events.
An intimate venue with a capacity of 40-50 people, we offer a perfect package for the smaller wedding.
The beautiful Grade II listed venue is grand enough to enhance the beauty of the day, but without the price tag that goes with a stately home, and the layout means that a smaller wedding is not overpowered by a cavernous hall.
You can simply hire the room for the day and create the wedding of your dreams, or leave it all to us.
Hire includes drinks on arrival and for toasts, furniture and equipment hire and a fully staffed bar. We also work with local wedding suppliers who can cater for your every need.
The room is available until 12 midnight, but should you wish to continue your night, you are welcome to party until 2am in the public bar downstairs.
We are located on Micklegate in the centre of York, just a couple of minutes from the train station, and are surrounded by hotels to cater for every guest.
Food offerings are from our award-winning sister pub, The Mended Drum, or we can organise alternatives if you prefer a different style.
