Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes you can take over our gorgeous country house, allowing you and your loved ones to enjoy the rolling lawns, picturesque terraces and luxurious lounges in complete privacy.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes, we have rooms licensed to suit weddings from 2 to 180 guests.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes, we have a beautiful outdoor wedding pavilion with a lovely long aisle. we will always book you a wet weather option too, just in case!
What time does the reception need to finish?
We are licensed until 12am for your wedding. We can have a late license extension to take your celebrations until 1am at a charge.
Are fireworks allowed?
We allow for silent fireworks and sparklers.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes, our Farriers Suite is our beautifully designed Honeymoon suite which comes with it's very own hot tub on your own private balcony.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, providing it is Bio-degradable.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
We don't offer corkage as we have an extensive wine list. If there is a drink that you love that we do not offer, we can always look at bringing this in for you.
Can we use our own caterers?
We can allow external caterers when privately hiring our South Downs Wing.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Access times do depend on whether your wedding rooms are in use the day prior to your big day! Suppliers are more than happy to set up on your wedding morning. of course, if your wedding rooms aren't in use the day prior you would be more than welcome to set up. Although, leave as much of this as you can to us so that you can relax!
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
We allow all amplified music until 12am, unless a late license has been take out.
Are candles allowed?
We allow candles at South Lodge, providing they are in suitable holders that are taller than the naked flame.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, we have 84 bedrooms plus a cottage onsite with 4 bedrooms.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, there are other Hotels and B&Bs close by.

About South Lodge
A luxury Wedding Venue, in Horsham, Sussex. South Lodge also has a civil ceremony license. This beautiful venue offers exclusive use and also has guest accommodation available.
In the heart of the dramatic Sussex Downs, South Lodge is the perfect venue for all seasons. In spring we welcome a striking display of rhododendrons. Our outdoor wedding pavilion offers the unique opportunity to marry with a panoramic view of the Downs in summer. Set within the 93 acres of parkland, plenty of vibrant colours in the autumn set a theme for your wedding day, and candlelit ceremonies and roaring log fires add to the atmosphere of romance when there is a chill in the winter air.
With 12 beautiful function suites we can accommodate parties of 10 to 180 guests for wedding breakfasts and up to 250 for evening functions. A number of these rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies meaning your whole day from marriage to retiring for the evening can be hosted at South Lodge.
Whether you are requiring a seated affair, stylish wedding buffet or fine-dining feast, our team of award-winning Chefs are on hand to produce a sumptuous offering utilising the best local and seasonal produce.
