Cowdray House is a magical setting for weddings. Situated at the heart of the Cowdray Estate and surrounded by 110-acres of manicured gardens and parkland, the House provides the bridal party with total privacy.
With its beautiful gardens, impressive architecture and elegant interiors, Cowdray House is an exceptional venue for ceremonies and wedding reception. Lending itself perfectly to large parties as well as more intimate gatherings, while retaining the warmth of a family home.
Buck Hall with its vaulted ceiling and minstrels gallery takes centre stage at the heart of the house, and is ideally suited for the wedding breakfast. Drinks receptions can be held on the manicured croquet lawn with far reaching views of the South Downs or in two elegant reception rooms – the Library and Drawing Room – which open onto the front terrace. Buck Hall, the wood-panelled Dining Room and the Summer Pavilion are all licensed for civil ceremonies.
The house has 22 individually designed luxurious bedrooms and opulent bathrooms. Further accommodation available in The Lodge, which can accommodate 16 guests, and four pretty holiday cottages that sleep 13.
Guests at Cowdray can enjoy polo, golf, clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing and other country pursuits all of which are available on the extensive Estate. There is also the opportunity to learn to play polo during the summer months with the Polo Academy or enjoy the fabulous leisure facilities at the House including the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, billiards room, tennis court, cricket pitch, croquet lawn and even your own private bowling alley.
