About Amberley Castle
Nestled safe and secure behind a portcullis, Amberley Castle lies waiting to be discovered as a truly unique wedding venue.
On the doorstep of the South Downs National Park, with its green rolling pastures, open spaces, ancient woodlands and river valleys Amberley Castle has been used exclusively by royalty, politicians and VIPs throughout its history. 12 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens (roamed by a resident white peacock) set the scene and the castle is still completely enclosed by a high curtain wall, with the medieval stonework forming an evocative backdrop to your special day.
All 19 bedrooms at Amberley Castle are luxuriously appointed. Every room is unique in design and the interior design reflects the history of the castle and rooms are furnished with antiques and fine fabrics.
In the restaurant guests will find two stunning dining rooms: the magnificent Queen's Room with a barrel-vaulted ceiling dating back to the 12th century; and the Great Room, built in 1165 by Bishop Luffa of Chichester and featuring an open fireplace, oak flooring, tapestry and suits of armour. With its unique atmosphere it is the perfect setting to indulge in the spectacular cuisine created by a talented team of chefs.
Located less than 60 miles south west of London and only 22 miles from Brighton, Amberley Castle is the centre piece for one of the prettiest villages in the South Downs.

We are available for exclusive hire, the minimum chargeable number is 40 guests including the wedding couple.
We are licensed for Civil Ceremonies in our King Charles I room, The Great Room and the Queen’s Room.

Our packages include wine for you and your guests. If you wanted to bring additional wine corkage would be charged.

Yes, we have a beautiful suite for the wedding night located on the top floor of the manor house with an opulent four-poster bed, antique furnishings and an original fireplace. The luxuriously appointed bathroom has a separate walk-in shower with a raised bath that looks out on the grounds and countryside beyond from leaded windows.
