The beauitful Georgian building provides a unique and stunning venue for your ceremony. We are also able to offer the exclusive services of the Town Crier on your special day to announce your marriage to the town!

Arriving at the Town Hall, you make your way up the steps and through the wrought-iron gates into the Buttermarket, from here stepping through the ancient oak doors and upstairs to the Main Chamber. This is where the ceremonies take place, surrounded by oak panels detailing in gold leaf the names of the past Mayors of Rye. The Main Chamber can accommodate up to 50 people seated, or up to 75 people sitting using the ledges around the room. The maximum capacity is 75 guests.
For smaller, more intimate ceremonies, chairs can be placed around the marble fireplace with its tavern clock above, seating 2 - 20 people. In the event that you would prefer not to have any guests, we can provide witnesses if required!
The Mayor's Parlour is also made available on the day for the registrar to talk to the couple privately before the ceremony. The layout means this can be done without the Bride and Groom seeing each other prior to the ceremony, if desired.
In addition to this beautiful venue, we are pleased to offer you the unique services of the Town Crier. He greets your guests on arrival and then escorts the Bride to the Main Chamber. After the ceremony, he will deliver the wedding 'cry', announcing your marriage to the town.
This historic Grade I listed building provides a stunning backdrop for the perfect photographs to remember your day.
Set in the heart of Rye, the Town Hall is within walking distance over the cobbled streets, to a number of local reception venues. While a short drive offers a whole host of further reception options.
