About The Sancroft Barns

Exclusive use 3-day dry-hire in this lovely location, easily accessible. The Barn (licensed for ceremonies up to 125 people with a Marquee (Apr-Sep) for seating up to 135; or a large paddock for your complete outdoor countryside wedding up to 300. You can just use the Barn for up to 50 (all year); there's space for camping too, plus a loo/shower block, glorious countryside, ample parking and a friendly no nonsense and flexible approach to how you use the space here.

A gorgeous venue in Suffolk, with many dates available in 2024 (and future years) for your reception, wedding (or even corporate or other celebration). We've got a restored Tudor Barn with lots of original features and oodles of character. You can choose to have get married here as the Barn (and separate 'Wed Shed') are licensed - or go outside for the true rustic experience. Then there's the stunning new courtyard for your reception drinks and speeches; it's south facing and a real suntrap. Out to our summer marquee for your sumptuous wedding breakfast - using the caterer you have chosen; the marquee seats 135, or 190 for a buffet style feast (from caterers or food outlets of your choice). Speeches and cake cutting, and again lots of outside space and fresh air. Then back to the Barn which has been made ready for your evening partydance. As we are dry hire you can choose which suppliers you want (yes we can recommend) to get the day of your dreams (usually a Wed or Sat). No neighbours, no corkage and some real gems; you can have your photos in the garden around the pond, moat or natural meadows and lawns if you wish and your guests can camp/glamp in style. If you don't need the summer marquee for that smaller, more intimate wedding (up to 50), or you get married locally and just want a reception and/or party then just hire the Barn (which actually includes everything else bar the marquee. Everything can be done in its confines - ceremony, reception, bar, dining and party. For the winter months (Oct - Mar) the Barn might be just what you are looking for. Or in the summer you can hire just the paddock, put up your own marquee of pretty much whatever size, and enjoy the fresh air, trees, and grass beneath your feet. So there's lots of options and very flexible space; do come and see us.

Our Sustainability Commitments

Our Tudor Barn has stood since the late 1500s and normally stays at a lovely ambient temperature. If required it is heated via a biomass boiler, using woodchip that we source from our farm's extensive hedges. We try to capture as much water as we can to re-use and re-cycle. The marquee and Loo block were both Made in England, and there is a sewage treatment plant that 'treats' the sewage and grey waste water. The venue is surrounded by our own fields which is in the latest environmental scheme in countryside stewardship and sustainable farming. Where possible we minimise the use of the plough, but being heavy land this is not always possible. We have over 8kms of hedges on the farm, which are managed by us to promote growth, maximise carbon capture and enhance and protect wildlife. We have installed owl boxes and a complete bat loft in the barn, as well as having 4 other bat boxes around the venue. The concrete from all of the buildings and sheds we demolished, and trackways and areas we pulled up was recycled as crush to form the sweeping new driveways at the venue.
