About Alpheton Hall Barns

Friendly, flexible and family run. Alpheton Hall Barns is an exclusive use historic Barn wedding and reception venue set in private grounds and rolling countryside close to the Suffolk / Essex border. Choose to say your vows in our Woodland Ceremony Glade with handcrafted oak shelter or stunning West Barn for a beautiful ceremony whatever the weather followed by a reception in the gardens and South Barn where you and your guests can feast, drink and dance all in one big, beautiful space.

Emphasising individual preferences rather than packaged options, you have the flexibility to select from our designated suppliers or bring your own. Our Barns are strung with a delightful array of twinkling fairy lights, showcasing rustic elements like our grand iron hoop lights and vintage wooden ladders all hanging with Edison light bulbs. Whether they stand alone or are adorned with foliage or flowers, they create a breathtaking ambiance. However, feel free to personalise the venue by adding your own decorations.

As part of our offering, you have access to the Confetti Arboretum, an ideal location for capturing confetti-filled moments and golden hour shots. The Stackyard Wedding Garden is available for your welcome drinks and garden games, while the Barn Courtyard features a wood-fired pizza oven and an open-fronted cart shed, perfect for your evening food or a relaxed space to unwind. The gardens and woodland surrounding Alpheton Hall are at the disposal of the couple and their photographer, providing a tranquil and picturesque setting for capturing intimate moments away from the guests.

The Grade II Listed Barns have been carefully restored to preserve their original charm. In pleasant weather, the full-height double barn doors can be opened to seamlessly merge the indoors with the outdoors. The barns' exterior features black feather boarding, complemented by honey-colored oak and lime plastered interiors, and a vintage tin roof, creating an exquisite backdrop that complements any color scheme.

Located between the Suffolk market towns of Bury St Edmunds (10 miles) and Sudbury (6 miles) on the Suffolk / Essex border the Barns are less than a mile from the village of Alpheton (A134). Additionally, the historic wool towns of Lavenham and Long Melford are close by.
