Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes! We are only an exclusive use venue, so every couple that books with us can be rest assured that the entire place is theirs and only theirs throughout their event. We aim to create a peaceful and stylish environment where your guests can relax in comfort and enjoy their time with family and friends.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes - we are fully licensed for ceremonies both indoors and in our gazebo outside which is situated on our large rear patio.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes, we are licensed for ceremonies in our gazebo outside which is situated on our large rear patio where you need little decoration as mother nature provides the most stunning backdrop with the breathtaking and far reaching views of the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside.
Can we use our own caterers?
We don't accommodate outside caterers as we have our own employed catering team in house ready to prepare delicious homemade dishes throughout your stay, which will include full cooked breakfast/s, wedding reception meal, evening buffet and even a late night cheese board if required.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
When you book the accommodation for the night before the wedding, then you have access from 4pm the day before. If you are hiring the venue for the day of the wedding only with accommodation for 1 night, then you have venue access from 10am on the morning of the wedding.
What time does the reception need to finish?
We ask that all performed music (band/DJ) closes at midnight and that any non residents have arranged their transport home for this time. However a residents only bar will remain open after this with no additional late bar facility fees.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
Our rule of thumb for noise restriction is if we can’t hear people ordering drinks at the bar then we will ask the band to turn it down, but it’s not usually a problem.
Are fireworks allowed?
We cannot accommodate fireworks, sorry.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, we ask that all confetti is bio-degradable and only to be used outside.
Are candles allowed?
Candles are permitted, however, we would ask you to refrain from using the tea-lights with exposed flame. These have been the cause of table fires in the past and therefore we encourage battery operated tea lights where possible. Candles in jam jars, lanterns or tall candelabra are fine.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes we have 16 bedrooms, 9 in the main house and 7 in the Berm house a very short walk from the front door. All bedrooms are ensuite and almost all have stunning views. We have a mixture of family, double/twins and even one single bedroom. Our maximum capacity is 50 however we average approximately 36-40 residents per wedding.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, lots of options for alternative accommodation near by with a Premier Inn just 4 miles away in the local town of Monmouth, lots of local pubs with rooms, as well as several local Airbnb hosts
