Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes. All weddings have exclusive use of the entire site, upscale glamping accommodation, wedding barn(s), outdoor ceremony spaces, and excellent amenities for 2 nights (with option to add nights)
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes, followed by a short legal ceremony under one of our licensed structures (event barn or farmhouse dining room). This is like going into the vestry to sign the register in a church.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
No. Feel free to bring your own alcohol. We will supply a bar person to serve, if desired.
Can we use our own caterers?
Yes. We don't recommend that weddings over 60 headcount self-cater, but you are free to bring in mobile caterers and/or enquire about Barnutopia catering.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Usually from noon the day before your wedding or event.
What time does the reception need to finish?
You can go on all night if you like.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
There are reasonable noise restrictions. As long as you aren't blasting across the valley you can play until late. Some parties have gone on all night with the music turned down to an acceptable level.
Are fireworks allowed?
No, but we don't mind sparklers or coloured smoke bombs.
Is confetti allowed?
Water-soluble biodebradable eco/snowfetti is the ONLY confetti allowed. We supply as part of the wedding package. No paper, foil, rice, leaves or flower petals.
Are candles allowed?
No, but the barn is lit with fairy lights and you can use LED flickering candles to good effect.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Couples choose whichever glamping unit they want for themselves. They also have access to a privat bathroom in the Tanycoed Rooms suite on event day.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, there are 9 luxury glamping yurts and cabins. All have real beds, linen, electrical sockets, light, heating and (site-wide) free WiFI.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, we can provide a list of local B&Bs, hotels and guesthouses.
About Barnutopia
Exclusive hire glamping village, campsite and wedding barn. Great value EVENT PACKAGE for 15, 30, 45, 100 or 120 guests. All-inclusive MICRO WEDDING package for up to 15 guests.
Set in a stunning rural location with breath-taking views in every direction, Barnutopia’s glamping village, licensed wedding barn, outdoor space and amenities are perfect for unique weddings and receptions. Packages are for 2 nights exclusive hire with the option to add nights.
Barnutopia is right on the border between England and Wales near to the village of Llansilin. The wedding barns, glamping accommodation, campsite and facilities are beautiful and practical. This is a fabulous country venue with all the conveniences you need for the perfect rustic wedding.
The licensed wedding barn can seat up to 120 guests but can be sectioned for smaller numbers. The garden room is another option for micro weddings. The little barn houses the cookhouse, a fully equipped camp kitchen and lounge area. The Dutch barn, next door to the cookhouse and with access to the party barn, is an excellent indoor/outdoor space where you can have a drinks reception if the weather is poor. Barnutopia provides fire pits, logs and garden seating or hay bales. Campfires are encouraged, and the owners love to see guests enjoying an evening chatting in the sunset.
Tie the knot outside against the backdrop of the Shropshire and Powys hills. By special request the Barnutopia kunekune pigs, Felix and Fiona, can join in the celebration. Alternatively, St. Silin's church is just over half a mile away along a leafy country lane.
