Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Due to the size of our venue, this is not something we can offer.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes, all of our function spaces are licenced for civil ceremonies.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes, we have our beautiful Riverside Gazebo available for hire alongside an indoor backup option for your ceremony.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
We have an extensive wine list for you to choose from.
Can we use our own caterers?
We have our own fantastic chefs in house to help create your perfect menu.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
This completely depends on what is happening inside the venue the night prior to your wedding and what function spaces you have booked. This can be discussed nearer the time with your wedding coordinator.
What time does the reception need to finish?
On a Friday and Saturday, your private bar and music will end at 1am. On any other day, the music and bar will shut down at midnight. However, our main lobby bar can be used 24hrs a day.
Are fireworks allowed?
Unfortunately due to our location, we do not allow fireworks, however, sparklers are not a problem!
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, as long as it is bio-degradable and used outside, this is absolutely fine.
Are candles allowed?
Yes! We just blow them out or replace them for the evening reception.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes, it is located in the original 15th century house.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, we have 104 bedrooms in the hotel and your guests will have access to a flexible preferential rate.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, we have our sister property 10 minutes away!

The Oxford Thames boasts an enchanting riverside gazebo, licensed for outdoor ceremonies, whilst the ornate Saint John’s College Barge and quaint walled garden, provide the perfect backdrop for endless photo opportunities.
When it comes to the reception, the Oxford Thames offers plenty of options. So whether you are looking for intimate celebrations with just those closest to you or something a little more extravagant, you will be sure to find the perfect spaces for your special day.
The characterful Little Barn is the ideal setting for weddings of up to 60 guests for the day, and 80 guests for the evening reception. While the modern Oxford Suite, overlooking the meadows, allows for something a little different, with the flexibility to host up to 120 guests for a seated meal, and up to 200 guests for the evening reception. The bright and spacious Conservatory, with its mixture of new and old, is perfect for up to 120 guests for the wedding breakfast and 200 for the evening reception. Finally the River Room, with its views of our perfectly manicured lawns and the River Thames, can host up to 80 guests for your seated meal and 100 for the evening reception.
