About Thoresby Weddings
Thoresby Park is a stunning country park and wedding venue in the heart of Sherwood Forest, surrounded by untouched natural beauty. The park is home to a variety of stunning buildings, including the Victorian Riding Hall, which is the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony or reception.
Thoresby has become one of the most exceptional settings for weddings in North Nottinghamshire, able to accommodate up to 180 guests for dinner and up to 200 for drinks receptions. Civil ceremonies, outdoor ceremonies and receptions can take place in the dramatic setting of the Victorian Riding Hall with its soaring arched ceiling, red brick walls, superb wooden floor and twinkling fairy lights. Our extensive estate and woodland give you exceptional photographic opportunities. At the back of The Riding Hall is our beautiful exclusive Secret Garden, which is the perfect place for a cocktail hour or wedding photos. FAQs
You will have exclusive use of the Riding Hall wedding venue and the Secret Garden for you and your guests to enjoy. The Courtyard area is open to the public until 5pm, after this time you and your guests are welcome to make use of the Courtyard area if you wish.
Yes we are able to hold Civil Ceremonies in the Riding Hall.
Yes, we offer marquee weddings in our Secret Garden, at Century House and on our lawns.
All drinks must be ordered through our bar, we don't offer corkage.
We ask that couples use one of our four caterers. If you wish to use your own caterer there is an external catering fee of £500 to do so.
If there is no wedding the day before, you are able to come in the day before and set up for your wedding. You have access from 8am on the day of your wedding. If there is a wedding the day before yours, we will ask you to come in a week or so before and set up the tables exactly how you want it to look and we will take photographs of the set up and do it all for you on the morning of your wedding.
Last orders on the bar are at 11.45pm. The Riding Hall doesn't close until 1am so you can party on until this time!
There are no noise restrictions as the Riding Hall is a rural location with no neighbours nearby! We ask that music be stopped in the Secret Garden at 12pm and music be brought inside the Riding Hall.
Yes fireworks and sparklers are allowed.
We allow confetti to be thrown outdoors and outside of the Courtyard area. Please use biodegradable confetti.
We are a Grade II listed building no lit candles are allowed. However, there are some fantastic LED candles which look very realistic that can be used instead.
We have a bridal suite at Century House which is our on site accommodation.
Yes, Century House sleeps 13 people and is great for getting all your close family in one place and is within walking distance of the Riding Hall. Meadow Cottage is the sister accommodation to Century House and sleeps six people. We also have Thoresby Hall Hotel on site as well as the Sherwood Hideaway luxury lodges which include hot tubs.
We can recommend nearby accommodation on request for your guests who are looking for a one night stay.
