A beautiful wedding venue in Hexham, Northumberland.

Hexham Abbey stands in the very centre of the thriving and picturesque market town of Hexham, just a few miles from Hadrian’s Wall and the Northumberland National Park. It offers some fantastic outdoor spaces and backdrops with the adjoining Sele Park and iconic bandstand, a real photographer’s dream.
We are a very flexible venue. You do not need to have been married in the Abbey to host your reception with us. We are also partnered with the newly refurbished Hexham House for any civil ceremonies.
There are several ways we can help you organise your wedding reception. We offer a wedding package which includes your room hire, wedding breakfast, a number of refreshments, evening entertainment and buffet. Or we can create a bespoke offering which may include catering or simply provide room hire only.
Each of our function rooms is unique, with large set fireplaces and high ceilings. Our full suite can be hired with each room tailored to your individual requirements, for instance a children’s play area or a quiet room.
Our Great Hall is our main showcase room, with five large, west-facing windows overlooking the Abbey Grounds. It can comfortably seat 110 guests for a wedding breakfast and is turned around for the evening’s entertainment. It even has a fully sprung dance floor for anyone wishing to host a ceilidh or dance!
