You will find the resort tucked away in a peaceful rural setting, situated in the heart of the Angus countryside. We opened in 1995 as a small fishery and we have since flourished into an award-winning resort.

We originally opened in 1995 when we converted an old boathouse ruin and a surrounding pond on the farm into a small fishery. Since then we have blossomed into a luxury 4-star resort, with 14 self-catering lodges, 2 events suites, a Waterside Restaurant, Cairn O’Mount bar, 5 fishing pools, a 9-hole golf course, Driving Range and Cairngorms Putting Green. The lochside location and beautiful landscaped grounds add to the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. The old boathouse is now the Leannan Boathouse, (Leannan is Gaelic for sweetheart), a romantic hideaway for lovers and honeymooners.
Every aspect of the resort comes together to create the ultimate destination for your wedding, and it means that every element of your big day is covered. From the ceremony, to the meal and evening reception, the honeymoon accommodation and accommodation for family and loved ones. You can even come together for a big wholesome dinner the night before or a lazy breakfast the day after to reminisce about your Wedding.
Our menus are created with you in mind. From the canapes to nibble on to the indulgent 3 course meal, we combine delicious flavours with an understanding of locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Our knowledgeable chefs use home grown produce from the Forbes family farm to bring to the table delicious options for you to choose from. If you are after something different then we can tailor make a menu for you.
