Frequently asked questions
Can we use our own caterers?
Unfortunately not as we have our own in-house catering team. Our menu prices include all our crockery, cutlery, glassware and waiting staff so there’s no additional costs to have to consider unless choosing one of our starred seasonal dishes which does carry a small supplementary charge. You are also welcome to provide your own wedding cake and sweetie table/ cart.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
You may have access from 09.00 on the day of your wedding or from 10:00 until 17:00 the previous day should we have no other bookings. Please check this with us one week beforehand. Should you wish to have guaranteed access the day before your wedding, a discounted venue hire fee will be charged.
What time does the reception need to finish?
The bar closes at 23:30 with the Hall closing at midnight. We can extend our licence until 01:00 (bar close at 00:30, venue close at 01:00) for an additional fee.
Are fireworks allowed?
Unfortunately not as these may be hazardous/ upset the nearby animals of Banham Zoo.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes! However we ask that only biodegradable or “bird friendly” confetti is used.
Are candles allowed?
To protect our marquee lining, we do not permit naked flames inside Applewood Hall. However, candles in appropriate containers/ hurricane lanterns may be placed outside in the garden.
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes! All our wedding receptions have exclusive use of Applewood Hall as standard.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes! We can offer ceremonies in one of two rooms; The Oak Rooms which is just a 3mins walk from Applewood Hall and is a lovely suite of rooms with beautiful beamed ceilings, accommodating 70 guests. Or The Orchard Room, which seats 90 guests and adjoins Applewood Hall with modern LED colour-changing lighting, lots of natural daylight and access out into our new wedding garden.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes! We can hold outdoor ceremonies in our beautiful wedding garden, which is dog-friendly too.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
You are welcome to provide your own wine, Prosecco or Champagne - corkage charges will apply.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
No, however we ask that the volume is at an acceptable level whereby staff within the Hall can communicate with guests.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes! We have six cosy Glamping Pods and five luxury Shepherd’s Cabins, which can sleep up to 36 guests onsite. Our campsite also provides spacious pitches, electric hook-ups and a children’s play trail, perfect for group camping to give your wedding a festival feel!
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes! There are lots of lovely B&Bs and boutique hotels in the local area for if glammping isn’t quite your cup of tea including; Sherbourne House Hotel, Breckland Lodge and Lime Kiln Farmhouse.
