Our rule of thumb for noise restriction is if we can’t hear people ordering drinks at the bar then we will ask the band to turn it down, but it’s not usually a problem. We have a long standing great relationship with our neighbours and local community therefore we dont allow outside bands or DJs with large PA systems

We have a long standing great relationship with our neighbours and local community and so dont allow fireworks.

We ask that all performed music (band/DJ) closes at midnight and that any non residents have arranged their transport home for this time. However a residents only bar will remain open after this with no additional late bar facility fees.

Yes, we ask that all confetti is bio-degradable and only to be used outside.

Our Sustainability Commitments

As a long established family run business, transparency and honesty is paramount to us. It saved us through covid with all postponed couples being offered alternative and suitable dates at no extra cost to themselves. From the outset our prices are clear and transparent and even if you book 3 years in advance, you will know the the costs of your event from day 1 and no matter what, those costs won't change. Our family business was established in 1969, so we have embraced change and the will to develop and move forward. We have a strong eco policy in place which is spearheaded by our award warning eco extension known as the Berm house. The building contains 7 ground floor bedrooms and as one of the UK's first eco buildings, it gained recognition in 1995 for being the 2nd lowest energy building in Europe! We also have a 10Kw PV system on the grass roof of the berm house which can power the entire property on sunny days (until the chefs turn the oven on, that is!). In addition our 100 person reed bed sewage system utilises the natural slope of the property without electricity to treat our waste such that it leaves the property well within the limits set out by our environmental permit. We have LED lighting throughout the property, with occupancy sensors in corridors to limit our electrical use and have adopted many inhouse measures to help do our bit to save the planet. The one thing that we have always held onto however is the warmth, cosiness and friendliness of being a big family home.
