Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes. We have 4 locations on site where civil ceremonies can take place - the barn, the granary, the gazebo and the drawing room of the manor house.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes. Our charming gazebo in the gardens is set on a natural stage and gives a beautiful setting for your civil ceremony.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
No, we do not charge corkage.
Can we use our own caterers?
Absolutely! We are blank canvas venue with no set suppliers.
Is confetti allowed?
We allow natural, biodegradable confetti.
Are candles allowed?
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes. Tall John's House can accommodate 30 people on site.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes there is plenty. We are located in the Brecon Beacons National Park so we are surrounded by hotels and B&Bs. Please get in touch if you would like us to recommend local accommodation.
Are tables and chairs included in the hire price?
No. We are a blank canvas venue so you are free to choose any supplier.
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
What time can we party until?
Our licence runs until 12 midnight but noise restrictions means loud music must be turned down at 11pm.
About Tall John's Wedding Barn
Tall John’s House is ideally situated for your wedding or celebration.
We have now restored and renovated our beautiful old barn and the surrounding courtyards for a wedding, party and function venue.
Tall John’s is ideally situated for your wedding or celebration as it is wonderfully central for London, the west country, Wales and the midlands.
We can provide a detailed list of local suppliers and will be on hand to give any advice and assistance.
The bare bones of our venue are:-
*A beautifully restored barn that will seat (formally) 150 guests – this will be available from lunch time on Friday until lunch time on Sunday
*Lighting and heating
*Large glass doors to each side for outdoor seating/smoking
*Our beautiful grounds at Tall John’s House for photographs/pre-dinner drinks
*2 nights in our adjoining 4 bedroomed (self-catering) cottage, Honeysuckle Cottage, which can be used as a crèche, extra accommodation, changing area
*1 night in our romantic 1 bedroomed (self-catering) cottage, The Coachman’s, for the bridal couple’s exclusive use with wedding breakfast
We can also make available Exclusive Use of Tall John’s House as staffed accommodation for up to 19 people including breakfast if you wish.
Our bedrooms can also be taken on an accommodation and breakfast only basis if the house has not been taken for Exclusive Use.
We have a licence for wedding ceremonies to take place at Tall John’s House in the drawing room, our newly refurbished Granary and our charming gazebo in the garden.
