Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
We have two wedding function rooms her at Mercure Haydock Hotel, and as such, we would take two weddings if the opportunity arose.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
We are licensed for civil ceremonies and conduct them in our beautiful, tiffany domed Beechers Restaurant
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Unfortunately, we are not licensed to conduct a ceremony outdoors
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
Yes we do. Please contact the Wedding Planner for current prices
Can we use our own caterers?
We would allow external caterers for multi cultural weddings
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Subject to availability, we would allow access the evening prior to your event for venue dressers, however, we here at the hotel would set and dress your function room for you, once you have provided us with your items (favours, name cards, etc.)
What time does the reception need to finish?
The Marquee last orders are 11.30pm with event to end at midnight The Racecourse Suite last orders are 12.30 and event to end at 1.00am
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
Live entertainment must cease at 10.30pm in the Marquee Live entertainment must cease at midnight on the Racecourse Suite DJ's can play up to midnight in the Marquee and 1.00am in the Racecourse Suite
Are fireworks allowed?
Yes they are (subject to you supplying them via a reputable company who must provide PLI certificates.) Please bear in mind that, by law, no fireworks are allowed after 11.00pm with the exception of New Years Eve, Bonfire Night and Chinese New Year
Is confetti allowed?
Yes it is - we would appreciate it if you had bio degradable confetti and that it was thrown outside in the garden areas of the hotel.
Are candles allowed?
Yes they are allowed., but only in the Racecourse Suite. You would need to provide battery operated candles for the marquee and also for Beechers Ceremony room
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes - there is a complimentary Bridal Suite offered to all Bride & Grooms, inclusive of champagne and breakfast, for the night of your wedding
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, we have 135 bedrooms and can offer a standard room, a privilege room, a junior suite and a king suite.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
There are several alternative options close by offering overnight accommodation.

The Grand Marquee, set within the courtyard, is our largest option and can accommodate up to 280 guests. The silk-draped marquee comes complete with its own private bar, sparkling chandeliers and a state-of-the-art Bose sound system and sparkly LED dance floor
Alternatively, the Racecourse Suite offers a unique ambiance with sophisticated lighting, permanent dance floor and private bar. The suite can hold up to 150 guests for a lively celebration. The Beechers Restaurant is also the perfect setting for smaller, more intimate occasions.
