Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
We offer only one wedding per day and you can also hire the whole estate for an 'exclusive use' hire fee.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes, we have four inside options for civil ceremonies for 15 - 200 persons and an outside option for up to 200 persons.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Of course, we offer outside civil ceremonies outside in our Secret Garden which has a licensed Pagoda.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
Yes we do, please email us for our full corkage policy.
Can we use our own caterers?
Yes you can on our 'Dry Hire' package only
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Access is from 07:00am
What time does the reception need to finish?
Are fireworks allowed?
Yes they are, we work with Platinum Fireworks who are our recommended supplier.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes we allow confetti to be used inside only.
Are candles allowed?
Yes as long as they are stored in a glass container which is higher than the naked flame.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes we have a Honeymoon Suite which is included in all wedding packages for the night of the wedding.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, we have 150 bedrooms across the estate.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes if needed.

A Historic Jacobean Manor House Hotel available as your wedding venue. With a license for ceremonies, we cater for weddings large or small. With options to have your wedding breakfast and Reception here after a Church or Registry office wedding too!
Nestled in 204 acres of breath taking gardens and woodlands, our historic Neo – Jacobean building has a history dating back to 861AD. With sculptured ceilings, leaded light windows and doors, a magnificent, sweeping staircase with a historic stained glass window; large open fire places and a multi-million refurbishment, complementing the historical detailing with ‘quirky’ modern styling. De Vere Selsdon Estate is a ‘new’ venue, steeped in history.
Chose to hold your ceremony indoors in our recently refurbished Sanderson Suite or outside in our Secret Garden, both options are a breathtaking start to your life together.
Your wedding breakfast, held in the Terrace suite will ‘wow’ you and your guests, originally the lounge of the house, this suite has stunning views over our gardens with four double doors leading out on our Terrace, the top table sits stylishly against the original paneling and has recently been ‘brought back to life’, with the original wood being exposed. Your cake table will be framed beautifully against the backdrop of one of the original fireplaces and guests will sit under chandeliers and a wonderful sculptured ceiling.
