About Kachette

Kachette is a perfect wedding venue for couples looking for a late night reception venue in the heart of Shoreditch. The two room exposed brick venue is housed in the old ticket hall of the old Shoreditch railway station which operated 1865 to 1940.

Kachette venue features include exposed bricks, industrial exposed rigging. The venue is also fitted with sound systems in both arches. If you are looking for just a wedding reception venue, the main room Arch 1 can be hired exclusively accommodating standing receptions for 50 to 180 guests or seated ceremonies / receptions with 50- 90 seated.
For larger seated numbers, hire the whole venue (both Arches) to accommodate up to 115 seated guests for ceremonies and receptions with room for up to 200 guests for the standing reception party after your meal.

No corkage or buyout to use an external caterer or bar supplier. You can also BYO alcohol as long the bar is managed by a licensed bar manager. Catering terms are also subject to the conditions of your caterer.

No accommodation on site but there are many hotels near the venue. We can give recommendations if you need help with this.

Yes. We give couples the freedom to work with a caterer of your own choice. We can also make some suggestions and you can go for a ‘no obligation to book’ tasting with one of our recommended suppliers. Unlike some dry hire venues, we do not charge a buyout fee if you hire a caterer that is not on our recommended catering list.

Yes

Arch 1 (the main room) has a 98dbC sound restriction. The PA in Arch 1 can be used for DJ’s, live bands or speeches. You can also play music from a phone or Ipad through the PA for your ceremony or reception. 98dbA is almost equivalent to the volume in a nightclub. The World Health Organisation advises event venues to restrict levels to under 110dbA to avoid hearing damage. Arch 2 (the back room) has a 105dbC sound restriction. This is nightclub level volume. The PA in Arch 2 can be used for DJ’s, live bands or speeches. You can also play music from a phone or Ipad through the PA for your ceremony or reception.

There are several local carparks but the venue is located close to various TFL metro and overground services at Old Street Station, Shoreditch High Street Station and Liverpool Street Stations. There are also many 24 hour busses that service Shoreditch.

No, the venue has limited outdoor space for guests, just a designated smoking area under the railway bridge.
