About Toynbee Hall

Standing proudly in Central London for over 200 years, Toynbee Hall is a community-loved venue, with heaps of character that will surely make for a picturesque backdrop to your special day.

Toynbee Hall is a unique Grade II listed building, nestled in the heart of London's Whitechapel, built to resemble a manorial residence in Elizabethan style.

Although much of the original site was destroyed during World War II, both of our stunning halls remain and we have recently undergone redevelopment to add fresh & modern accents to the building's historic charm.

We are a licensed venue for Civil Marriages & Partnerships in Tower Hamlets and, ordinarily, are able to accommodate ceremonies for up to 90 guests. For those hoping to arrange a smaller wedding affair, in line with national wedding restrictions, we will be pleased to work with you in planning a safe yet intimate ceremony.

Couples preparing their nuptials for a date beyond current restrictions are also encouraged to get in touch with us early, our spaces have been beautifully designed in a way that allows a smooth flow from ceremony to reception.
