The hotel is very honoured to have Leicester’s only remaining Victorian ballroom, The Kings Hall. With our soaring ceilings and grand staircase The Grand Hotel is the perfect balance of Victorian charm and modern comfort. This famous grade II listed Victorian hotel was built in 1898 and is situated in the heart of a historic city, with a great reputation for hospitality, it is easy to see why the Mercure Leicester, The Grand Hotel is a much loved wedding venue and has been visited by many famous guests.
Since our ground floor refurbishment at the beginning of the year we have received amazing feedback on how we have managed to hold the traditional features of the building but at the same time modernise ourselves to ensure we cater for everyone. There is now a Marco Pierre White New York Italian Restaurant within the hotel which makes for a wonderful addition, especially for a stylish meal the evening prior to the big day for all the bridesmaids and bride to treat themselves!
