About Leicester Guildhall
Situated in the heart of Leicester's beautifully historic 'Old Town' , you can enjoy your wedding day in our stunning secluded medieval setting where Parliament once met, grand feasts were held and where Shakespeare’s players took to the stage.
Dating back to 1390, Leicester Guildhall is one of the finest surviving timber-framed medieval halls in England.
Astound your guests in the stunning Great Hall, with 17th century murals, surrounded by large medieval windows, fine brass chandeliers and impressive dark panelling and beams.
Or if you wish to have more of an intimate ceremony or drink receptions, the Mayor’s Parlour offers a backdrop of carved wooden panels, an elaborate 17th century fireplace and stunning 15th century stained-glass windows.
The charming enclosed courtyard is also available for after your ceremony celebratory glass of fizz and a is place to take memorable wedding photography.
The Great Hall facilitates up to 90 guests and The Mayors Parlour up to 40 guests.
Your ceremony can be held Monday to Friday at 11am or 3pm.
Alternatively, on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays your ceremony can be held at 11am 1pm and 3pm.
Evening ceremonies are also available on Saturdays at 5pm April-September only.
