Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes you can. Venue exclusivity at St. Augustine's is the ultimate add on for your special day. Not only will you automatically gain an extended bar licence to 1am (usually £200) but it will give you complete privacy and freedom. You will be the only wedding taking place on the day. No external visitors other than your wedding party and guests will have access to the building. You will have full use of the whole building and gardens from 8am - 1am and access to every room on the ground floor. This can be added to any wedding package for £1,200
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
We are licenced for civil ceremonies. All of our function rooms on the ground floor are licenced for marriage.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
You can. St. Augustine's not only has 7 beautiful and unique function rooms. But we also have stunning gardens with a white Gazebo licenced for marriage. Our Gazebo and outdoor area can gold up to 150 guests for a ceremony.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
We do. Our corkage is: £9.50 per bottle of wine £12.50 per bottle of sparkling Our house wine costs - £16.95 per bottle Our house Prosecco costs - £21.95 per bottle
Can we use our own caterers?
We do allow external caterers, however this is called a Dry Hire package. Dry hire of the venue starts from £6,000 and includes all of the below: • This gives you full use off every room in the venue from 8am in the morning till 1am the following morning. • Venue Exclusivity • Tables/Chairs/ linen/ napkins and table clothes • Silver cake staff and cake knife • Display stand for your seating plan • Silver table number stands • Red carpet for ceremony room • Free (approx. 100) car parking spaces • South facing gardens for photography and Gazebo • Use of kitchen and Head chef on all day duty to show your caterers how everything is used • Serving tools and trays for your buffet • Cutlery/ Crockery/ Glassware • You are also able to bring in your own priest to perform the ceremony • Bridal Suite on site
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Typically 8am. However this is dependant on the couples ceremony time.
What time does the reception need to finish?
Our weddings end at midnight unless an extended licence is purchased. This will allow you stay until 1am and costs £200 to add onto your package.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
We welcome live bands, and frequently have them on site. Our only restriction is the band must be indoors, no outdoor music at all due to residence living close by.
Are fireworks allowed?
Sadly not. We have a residential site next door to our venue. To be respectful, we do not allow fireworks on the premises. We do allow sparklers.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, we encourage confetti and is allowed in any room at any time during the wedding day.
Are candles allowed?
Yes candles are allowed as long as they are properly secured in a safe and fitting holder.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
We have a Bridal suite on site for the Bride and her family & friends to get ready. Our bridal suite has just recently been refurbished (2019) and has had a fresh upgrade with beautiful hard wood floors, handmade sofas and gorgeous mirrored furniture. Its the most modern room in the entire building adding a refreshing contrast to the other rooms on site. It's truly the perfect backdrop for pre-wedding photos. Is there accommodation on site?
Sadly not. However we have fantastic suppliers that provide unique and very close by accommodation. Please ask us for details.
