About Hatfield House

Set within the sprawling acres of Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire where Queen Elizabeth I spent much of her childhood, our dramatic and two very different venues provide equally eye-catching wedding venues. The historic and grand Old Palace or the contemporary Riding School both provide a unique, timeless and magical backdrop for your wedding celebrations in Hertfordshire.
Built in 1497, the striking Old Palace is the perfect setting for a grand reception with up to 250 guests. For slightly smaller occasions, the modern Riding School can accommodate up to 120 guests. Both venues are licensed to hold civil ceremonies so you can hold your whole day of celebrations in one beautiful location.
Hatfield House’s superb surroundings are beautiful in every season. The glorious gardens and the stunning park provide breath-taking backdrops for your treasured photographs.
