Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes, Kingscote Barn is an exclusive use venue.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes of course! Your ceremony will need to be booked with the Gloucestershire Registry Office. We recommend a 2pm ceremony here at Kingscote Barn.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
We normally host our outdoor ceremonies between May-September but if we have good weather out of those months then we would be happy to host the ceremony outdoors. Outdoor ceremonies are obviously weather dependent and we will always do a plan for an indoor ceremony too, just in case the weather doesn’t allow for an outdoor ceremony. We then make a decision about where to hold the ceremony the day before your wedding as this gives us time to prepare for what we are setting up on the morning. If there is more than a 30% chance of rain then we would advise having an indoor ceremony.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
You can provide your own drinks for the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and even throughout the evening. Your caterer will add service charges for providing glasses, staffing and recycling of the empties. No additional charge will be made by The Kingscote Barn
Can we use our own caterers?
No, we have three brilliant caterer's who you can choose from for your wedding.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Access to the barn is from 10.30am the morning of your wedding.
What time does the reception need to finish?
The Barn tends to have a finish time of 12:30 for music and the bar to close, to then depart by 1am. However extensions can be arranged with the barn at an additional charge.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
We have no noise restrictions in the main barn.
Are fireworks allowed?
Yes, we work with a local approved supplier Coates Fireworks who can provide an amazing display (http:/www. coatesfireworks.co.uk/kingscote.htm).
Is confetti allowed?
Of course! We only allow dry lavender for our outdoor ceremonies, and dried petal's inside. Bubbles do make a great alternative to confetti!
Are candles allowed?
Yes, as long as these are in a base of a candle holder, to ensure no wax is melted on any linen or surfaces.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes. This is complimentary for the couple the night of the wedding. - which is our amazing new tree house! - not to be missed!!
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes! Our rooms vary from, pods, lodges, and cottages, this is exclusive to you and your wedding guests the night of the wedding only, we can accommodate around 50 guests for the night of your wedding at the barn.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, we do offer a extensive list of recommended nearby accommodation if we don't have enough here on site.
