About High House Weddings
High House Weddings is an exclusive use wedding venue with a Grade II wedding barn and reception marquee, luxury onsite accommodation for 27 guests, set in landscaped gardens surrounded by vineyards, in the beautiful Essex countryside.
For getting ready, you have The Dressing Room, an oak-framed orangery overlooking the swimming pool, provides a beautiful setting for pre-wedding preparations, complete with comfortable sofas, dressing tables, perfect natural lighting and en-suite facilities.
For your ceremony, you have a choice of an outdoor ceremony under the thatched gazebo or an indoor ceremony in the oak Essex barn. As the venue is exclusively yours, the decision on where your ceremony will be held can be decided on the day, weather permitting.
You and your guests can enjoy the picturesque six-acre grounds, which include a Monet-inspired bridge over a pond and a neighbouring vineyard, perfect for capturing memorable photos. The outdoor patio area features a stable bar, the perfect space for your reception drinks.
The centrepiece of the venue is the stunning marquee overlooking the lake, providing breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The dance floor in the marquee has a unique feature, a dance floor reveal, with twinkling star-cloth lining, a stage and black and white dance floor, creating an unforgettable party atmosphere for guests.
From spring 2024, the venue is excited to announce the new Farmhouse accommodation with 11 luxury ensuite bedrooms, a shared lounge, and kitchen space. For the couple, you have an intimate setting tucked away in the secret garden, the Couples Retreat. Offering a sumptuous bedroom, freestanding bath, en-suite shower room, cosy lounge and kitchen - this really is the perfect place to retreat to on your wedding night. In addition to our Farmhouse accommodation and Couples Retreat we are delighted to offer further accommodation in our Guest Lodge.

We have a recommended caterer for the wedding breakfast, who is familiar with the kitchens here and always a popular choice with couples, and you are welcome to use our recommended caterer or bring in a BBQ, hog roast, pizzas or food trucks for casual dining in the evening.
The barn and marquee need minimal additional decoration but you are welcome to come in on the morning of your wedding.
Yes - our Couples Retreat is a real hidden gem with it's own private secluded gardens, and is the perfect place to spend your wedding night.
Yes, our luxury grade II listed farmhouse has 10 bedrooms alongside our couples retreat and courtyard rooms, there is enough accommodation for yourselves and 25 guests.
There are plenty of pubs and a hotel for wedding guests in nearby Burnham-on Crouch.
We have a private car park at High House plenty of space for your wedding guests. Vehicles can be left overnight, but we ask that they are collected between 8am-10am the following morning.
We have a lovely preparation suite with loads of natural light, in its own gardens with a swimming pool for great pre-wedding photos.
We have a specially designed "Jack and Jill" room for the registrar to meet you both, with separate doors so there is no chance of you seeing each other before the ceremony!
Our Sustainability Commitments
Being set within the beautiful Essex countryside, sustainability is an important consideration for us. To minimise the impact on our environment there are many things that we do at High House, for example; - in mind of the amount of wildlife that surrounds us we use fresh petal confetti to ensure no harm to the many ducks/birds we have on site. Our team distribute the petals to guests in handfuls so no need for individual containers per person for the confetti throw! - having a vineyard next to us, we use as much wine from it at our weddings as possible knowing its origin - minimise noise effects to the local community by having a very sophisticated sound system that ensures we do not effect levels outside of our venue itself - we have a recommended supplier list of local businesses for all aspects of a couples day - working as paper free as possible - recycling everything we can We strive to learn and maximise our sustainability as time goes on, always welcoming ideas from our couples themselves.
