Frequently asked questions
Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes, the entire family home is yours's exclusively on your wedding day.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes, in two locations, our Ceremony Pavilion and Drawing Room.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
Yes we have several outdoor area's where a bespoke outdoor ceremony could be setup.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
Yes Merlins our in house caterers do charge corkage.
Can we use our own caterers?
Unfortunately not, unless it was something separate to the wedding breakfast and evening food, such as a Coffee Tuk Tuk, Sweetie Cart, Hot Dogs, pop corn etc.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Access for decorating is 8am, Access for your wedding guests is 1 hour before your ceremony.
What time does the reception need to finish?
12 Midnight
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
There is a sound limiter which is limited to 96DB.
Are fireworks allowed?
Unfortunately due to being on the Bournemouth flight path, we are not allowed, however sparklers are allowed.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes, dried or fresh petals only.
Are candles allowed?
Yes, but naked flames would be required to be in a jar/holder which covers the wick. LED battery powered candles are required at night.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
Yes a getting ready suite, access from 8am for 6 guests. There is also a honeymoon suite for the newly weds.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes for up to 18 guests.
Is there additional accommodation nearby?
Yes, we will give further details in the booking pack.
