Nestling in an idyllic valley just 8 miles from Exeter, the award winning Great Barn was recently restored with weddings in mind. Of all the many licensed Civil Ceremony venues in Devon it would be hard to beat the wow factor of this breathtaking 15th century barn. Known as the "thatched cathedral" the vast oak ceiling provides a spectacular backdrop for your wedding day.

Seating over 160 at round tables and around 190 at trestles the scale of the building means your party will never be split, everyone will be in the same space from the start to the end of your day.

Attached to the Barn is the Roundhouse which works well as a bar area, we also have a pretty canvas marquee in the courtyard standing by in case of wet weather. Also in the courtyard are two beautiful cottages sleeping up to 13 in total.

Across the courtyard your guests step through an ancient arched gate into the glorious walled garden. Perfect for drinks and photographs. Follow this by a delicious feast supplied by one of our top class recommended caterers with drinks supplied by you without fear of corkage.

Surrounded by the Place Barton private estate an exclusive wedding reception is guaranteed. Whether you are planning a summer or winter wedding for 40 or 140 we will be on hand throughout the planning, preparing with you the day before and on the day itself making sure you have the wedding of your dreams.
