Can we have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes this is available however this would need to be booked a minimum of 2 years in advance of wedding day to guarantee availability.Cost for this would be discussed and is dependant on guest numbers and package elements.
Are you licenced for civil ceremonies?
Yes we are fully licensed for marriage ceremonies under the jurisdiction of Cumbria County Council Registrars.
Can we have the wedding ceremony outdoors?
No we do not offer this facility.
Do you charge corkage if we supply our own wine?
Yes we offer this option.
Can we use our own caterers?
No we do not offer this facility.
From what time can we get access to decorate the venue?
Early access is permitted on the wedding day from 8am and dependent on venue availability could even be available the night before.
What time does the reception need to finish?
Our function bar is licensed until 12am Sunday to Thursday and 1am Friday and Saturday.After this time any guests staying over may use the residents lounge bar.
Are there noise restrictions if we have a live band?
There are no noise restrictions for the ballroom venue.
Are fireworks allowed?
Yes we permit these on the lawn.They must be arranged by you directly with a reputable firework display company who must provide a public liability certificate and risk assessment to the hotel.
Is confetti allowed?
Yes we allow confetti in all areas, however as part of our green tourism award we please ask that this is bio degradable.
Are candles allowed?
Real candles/tea lights with appropriate holder are only permitted for during the wedding breakfast. We have a no flame policy for evening receptions, LED battery tea-lights candles are permitted.
Is there a honeymoon or bridal suite?
We have several four poster rooms that are allocated for a birdal suite.

Nestling in woodland on the outskirts of the quaint south lakes town of Grange over Sands, the sprawling Victorian building and grounds of the Cumbria Grand are the ideal venue for your special day.Our team of wedding experts will ensure you and your guests are looked after from the minute they arrive.There are 124 bedrooms, many with bay views and balconies and a selection of suites and family rooms.Preferential wedding rates for guest accommodation can be negotiated.Our wedding menus can be tailored to your requirements and we offer a unique feature in that your guests can select on the day from a choice menu.This means no pre-order is required.Drinks packages can also be set up to your personal preference and we offer the option of you supplying your own wine and paying a corkage fee.A master of ceremonies is on hand all day and will assist with timings and speeches.The Victorian ballroom has its own private bar, large grand theatre style stage area and has direct access to the lawn and decking area where your guests can enjoy drinks and canapes before the wedding breakfast is served.Included in our package pricing is a white chair cover and sash of your choice, use of our red or ivory carpet, PA system for background music and speeches, cake table and cake knife.
A large bedroom for bridal party use on the night before/changing room and a four poster bedroom for the bride and groom on the wedding night are also included.
