National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool is a unique historic wedding venue based in Hartlepool, Durham. Amongst its selection of flexible spaces, this immersive site gives couples the opportunity to host their day on board Britain's oldest floating warship. With the additional options of a private live-fire display and night-time fireworks, your first step on your greatest adventure yet will be one you'll never forget.

National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool offers a choice of flexible spaces for the ceremony and reception. The HMS Trincomalee is perhaps its most iconic site, allowing couples to host a waterfront wedding with an old-world charm. Set on an 18th-century seaport, the historic vessel is available exclusively in its entirety, providing guests with engaging surroundings at every stage of the festivities. Between the Top Deck, Mess Deck, and Captain's Cabin, you can host up to 70 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast, with an additional 10 for a drinks reception. For larger weddings, the Sir William Grey Suite contains ample space for as many as 140 standing guests, while the Baltic Suite can comfortably accommodate 120.

Yes! Aside from our public Museum areas, we guarantee you exclusive use of the function rooms and HMS Trincomalee. We only ever do one Wedding per day (usually a maximum of two per week) so you know our attention will be focused on you and your Wedding.

Yes - both of our function rooms and HMS Trincomalee are licensed.

Unfortunately our outdoor spaces are not licensed but, if you choose to have a celebrant-led Wedding, this is something that you can do.

We do not allow couples to supply their own alcohol.

We are proud to offer all of our catering in-house!

We don't permit naked flames but LED candles are permitted.
